Im at good will right now and see a trinitron sitting on the shelf. Im no expert but i know trinitrons are great for retro video games and the price is right. Is this model worth getting (pic related)
Are you underaged?
>getting advice for a 6 dollar tv before buying
sort ur fookin loife out m8

What's that consumer alert label all about?
Yeah, but not ALL trinitrons. Are you in the USA? Does it have component input on the back, or at least s-video? That one is a flat screen, which always has imperfect geometry, but since you posted this thread I'm sure you won't notice.
In any case, $6 is a no brainer, assuming you aren't auschwitz mode and can move it and have the room for it.

I already have a crt so i just want to know if the model is any good. Plus its a bitch to move any big crt around.
>>3944396
Nice day for socks n' shorts, Anon?
>>3944412
Pretty sure they put those on to let you know about the digital broadcasting change in 2009 or something, but that its perfectly fine to use for dvd, vhs and game consoles still
>>3944423
Always, friend
That's a damn fine television OP. Would definitely buy.
Post model # and ports. Some of the smaller Wegas in '05 and '06 dropped the s-video port, ideally you'd want both s-video and component. If it has both it should be a great set.

Since you guys were wondering, heres the back. I went ahead and bought it. S video and component
>>3944442
Shit needs a scrubbing for sure. Component and S-video though. What is the screen size? Have you hooked it up to anything yet?Do you have a wii?
>>3944449
Not yet, waiting for the old man to get home to help lift to the game room.
I got one for free a ways back. Dude just didn't want it anymore cluttering up space and said if we moved it we could have. Thing was fucking heavy.

Prepare to be pleasantly surprised that's basically the best type of consumer CRT for retro gaming. Hook up a real retro console via s video or your Wii up via component and run an emulator in 240p. You're going to see what you've been missing (assuming you've been playing via composite/rf on some no-name crt up to now)
>>3944562
Thannks yeah im definitely going to invest in new cables. As of now, im playing exclusively on composite. Im thinking of upgrading to s video and component where i can
>$6
>has component ports
Buy it for fuck's sake that is perfect
>>3944572
Even s video is a huge jump in quality, have fun.
It's an FS100. Nothing to write home about but nothing really wrong with it either.
You did ok, assuming it isn't worn out.

PVM autistic here, S-Video is really the optimal way to play retro consoles anyway. RGB SCART has great color but is oversharp, and composite looks like ass. S-Video looks great and has the perfect amount of sharpness.
>>3944623
>>3944623
>oversharp
It's only too sharp on PVMeme's. It looks superb on a normal SDTV or arcade monitor.
That model design looks ugly but whatever
>>3944852
Agreed but it has the best speakers

>Prepare to be pleasantly surprised that's basically the best type of consumer CRT for retro gaming.
JVC D-series is better.
Curved with component input.
Comes in all the same large sizes as Trinitrons.
>>3944442
Nice. VERY nice!
You saved a nice Trinitron and got an excellent retro TV with that, all those ports.
Enjoy it.
>>3944442
>component
nice
Dont want to make a new thread what do you guys think about this one?
Idc about the price but is this one suitable?
>>3945148
>>3945148
Almost certainly too old to have anything other than RF.
Cool aesthetics, I'd probably save it anyway, but don't expect good image quality.
>>3944442
>>3944396
Looks a lot like my 20" trini.
Yours has one extra composite input than mine.
$6 is a steal if it works right. Polish it up a bit and you got yourself a workhorse. I'll have to start checking my local GW for bargain electronics. I thought they always jewed people. $6 is HOLY SHIT-tier cheap.

thanks

JVC is junk. There are tons of bubble/flat crts with ypbpr/rgb capabilities that are better or as good as Sony, but not JVC.
