What are some of /vr/'s hidden gems?

>hidden gems?
you making a new eceleb vid?
>>3939989
whoops I thought this was a video game cover.
>>3939989
The application for being an eceleb has long been too late. The only way to make youtube videos and get popular these days are to show an extreme amount of autism or be politically or racially risque.
No, I just want to find cool games that aren't Earthbound/Megaman/Mario/Zelda that everyone already knows about.
>>3939964
I rented that game from Blockbuster when I was young. It's fucking great, reminds me a lot of the early Final Fantasies.
Not to mention, the sprite animation is fucking Shantae-tier.

>Harry Potter
>hidden gem
"no"
>>3940105
it was one of the last GBC games released and the GBA had already replaced it. It is indeed a hidden gem since no one would expect a licensed game that came out at the end of the life of the system to be any good.
>>3940004
outright lies lol
>>3939964
I actually really fucking love this game. Had it as a kid. I did go back to play it recently though and noticed it's a 30fps GBC game...

the chamber of secrets is even better, I owned both as a kid and enjoyed playing them a lot
>>3939964
That's your "hidden" gem?
>>3940640
This game's OST is SO GOOD
I don't know about hidden gems, but there's some Megadrive games I used to play a lot that people rarely talk about:
-Talmit's Adventure
-Second Samurai
-Forgotten Worlds

Nani!?
>>3941340
it has a pretty unique battle system, give it a shot
For the NES Captain Tsubasa 2. Soccer/RPG/strategy nice graphics, insane music
For the GBA Car Battle Joe. Racing/RPG. Fun

That looks like an ultima underworld clone

Can any game that AVGN covers be considered hidden?
>>3943202
Some people outright do not watch podcasts on YouTube. I'm one of them. Want to blog? Then type like a normal person, faggot.
Blues Brothers - rarely talked about and often ignored for being licensed. Its been ported to shit, but I've only played the Gameboy and NES versions. Great art, platforming and music.

You do know I'm not him, right? And just because you don't like something doesn't mean it doesn't exit.
Good sources of "hidden gems":
>pre-1990 home computer exclusives, the 8-bit era being more obscure than the 16-bit one
>arcade exclusives
>2nd gen console games
>games on systems that are hard to emulate, like the Saturn or 3DO
>games that require an unusual controller for the full experience
>Japan exclusives that don't even have a Hard Gay 101 page
>Games that aren't arcade games but simultaneously don't belong to a particular system, like LCD and tabletop games
Also, I'm nostalgic for that Harry Potter game, but I'm not sure if it's a gem. It's kind of buggy, you have no idea what the card spells do until you waste your cards by casting one, the gameplay has the depth of Dragon Quest 1, and there's not much to do outside of battle. Music's good though, you just know that if the game was released today, they'd shove fucking Hedwig's Theme into every scene.

>saturn version

Anything that didn't come out in Murica, especially European stuff.

>For the NES Captain Tsubasa 2. Soccer/RPG/strategy nice graphics, insane music
I wasn't expecting much, but damn, the music is good.

basically shantae but way cheaper
Nothing that felt quite like this ever came out again.
Was a pretty good console in a way. Road Rash was one of the best games on earth at the time and other games like Crash n' Burn had a type of style and soul that is just completely missing from games now.

So that's why they're worth so much.
