What do you guys think of Hexen? I first played it on the N64

It's the closest Doom-engine games come to being fun for me. Heretic is comfy but not particularly enthralling.

And Doom? At best I fucking tolerated the first one. I couldn't even finish the second one because it was so. Goddamned. Boring.

Loved it when it came out, but never got past the first hub when I was a kid.

Played it again a few years ago and thoroughly enjoyed it. Some puzzles were a bit hard and had to refer to walkthrough, but it was worth it. no sense aimlessly wandering around with no idea what to do. If I find myself doing that for more than 20min, I check the walkthrough.

Probably my favorite doom-engine game.

I recall being pretty chuffed with myself when I discovered you could skip climbing that tower at the start if you play the mage.

I like the character class in the game but overall Heretic is way more enjoyable thanks to its level-structured campaign.

I like both Heretic and Hexen a lot, I'm having a lot of fun playing them again.
