okay, im going to propose something that might get me chased out of here with burning torches so before that happens let me apologize in advance. I'm just asking because im an idiot
lets say you have a retro console you want to play on a HDTV, but you really like the oldskool crt look. would it be possible to have some kind of postprocessing hardware that patches between the console and TV and creates that effect like a shader would in an emulator? i imagine some kind of lightweight computer with a remote that allows you to open menus to modify shader settings, even load new shaders in through a usb cable or something?
like i said i know this is goofy but its just a thought i keep coming back to. especially for people who maybe dont want to go all in for a CRT, but get a kick out of playing games running on original hardware.
lol bruh these already exist

The general consensus is you're flaming enough as it is.
Good luck.
You can set framemeister to insert scanlines, scale to 4:3 and/or do integer zoom but if you want to simulate more complex CRT qualities like bloom or apperture grille/shadow mask then you're going to need to emulate with a powerful PC using a 4k display.
