Handheld LCD games are a dead art form
You know what bugs me about all this LCD stuff?
Nobody has bothered putting it in a watch, properly at least.
The closest they ever got was the Timex Datalink, which had a 2 year battery life and you could play a few games on it, or even program your own.
I guess the modern world just doesn't care about battery life anymore. I'd KILL for a full-screen dot matrix display watch running on standard watch batteries, instead of "smart" watches that barely last a day with fancy color screens.
This was my first gaming device, I had another one of the same series which I don't remember.
A short time leater I received Rain Shower and after that Donkey kong.
The later two I still own.

It was Plane and Tank.

grammy game me this one
These Bandai ones that manage to depict multiple different scenes on the same screen by just clever and careful placement of the diode patterns are super cool too.
I've always liked this Search Light/ Run Away game by Gakken that uses diodes in sort of the opposite way that most LCD games do, often turning them OFF to show where the player is or guards are by revealing their painted on art underneath.

Okay That pretty koolaid. I've never seen a 3 screen one.

My bro used to buy them with his own pocket money, then beat me if i wanted to play them.

not quite the same thing but sometimes I wish some of these would be recreated on phones
like imagine having a pack of Game & Watch games on your phone you can just pull up whenever
clown pinball
Were these things actually playable?
I got a Tiger one once, and it was completely confusing.
I just stuck to Super Star Wars.

Depends on the game? Megaman, Castlevania, and Shinobi were all pretty fun Tiger handhelds. Gauntlet was terrible, though.

why wasn't the 3DS like this

>remember Konami doesn't own the Turtles license anymore
Many years later and I'm still mad about it. Does anyone have those Konami LCD games and how do they play?

I had the turtles one and it was decent for a LCD game. You jump and whack away at the mousers. There's a dreaded underwater level. April has big ol titties.

There was a second Turtles one 'Splinter Speaks'. My mate had them both. He also had the Top Gun one and a Star Trek one.
