yoshi's island: super mario world 2
You can't beat that death music. It's like a pavlovian reward for trying that made me ready to try again.
It's before the "toadification" of yoshi. They ruined that character and never looked back! They turned it from Mario's steed, a majestic character, to a chibi munchkin character with baby voice to boot, more akin to toad.
Can you tell I'm really only here to opine about classic Yoshi?

Good choice on Thrasher.
Myst and Riven.
>>3905175
Good taste
Wish I could get into more of these, I managed to get through Myst but there's something about Riven I can't get into as much as I want to.

Is there an english patch for this?

Many people find this terrifying, but to me it's pure comfort. I could splash around in the ocean all day.
Also,
Legend of the River King
Animal Crossing
Outrun
and not retro, but big time Monster Hunter.

I really need to play this some day.

I really want to love Ecco but I'm so bad at these games
Agree on maximum comfy though
>>3905591
They're pretty hard at points and it doesn't help that it's a totally different control scheme from anything else but after all these years now playing it just feels perfect.

No, but if you wander around aimlessly for one playthrough (it's a time limited game, just one summer) it's very tranquil just to investigate the areas and fumble with the menus and stuff. You should be able to figure out how to collect bugs which is fun in and of itself. Then if you want to really get into the gameplay elements you can read a faq that will clear up what you missed. Honestly I think it's even comfier to just let everything go in one ear and out the other then go do whatever just like an actual kid.

Eyy never thought to do it like that, sounds fun. I'm convinced to give it a shot now
Tie Fighter for me. Living in a clean ass officer's quarters on a Star Destroyer surrounded by 10/10 Imperial aesthetics. Once you get done with the unshielded TIE missions you're flying some comfy ass high tech fighters, smashing traitors and rebels alike.
Has to be harry potter on ps1
>harry potter games will never be about exploring again
>there will never be an open world harry potter rpg
Densha de GO!

Hey, I just posted that my brother!
x-com ufo defense, resident evil 1, or star ocean 2
as much as I love RE3, I can't find it comfy because of the goddamn nemesis fights
>>3905124
You know, I could see Pratchett saying this.
Uncharted Waters

It sounds just like something he would say because that's something he indeed did say.
>Monster Hunter
>Abes Oddysee
>Earthbound
For comfy retro, it'd probably be X4, I grew up with it X,X5, and MM8. Still have trouble playing as Zero. Anything with an interesting world that you can get absorbed in I find comfy though.
