What the fuck WAS his problem?

He was poorly drawn and his chin was crooked?

He did literally nothing wrong, don't push your Duraifag agenda around here man
>>

He wanted the same respect for the same amount of work, regardless of his standing in society.

>the Ramza approach to fighting injustice
>sticking to one's principles while fighting the forces of evil, gathering a cadre of supporters to battle against corrupt aristocracy and eldritch abominations

>the Delita approach to fighting injustice
>throw everyone and everything under the bus in order to claw your way to the top and assume absolute power
>this kills the injustice[citation needed]
>>

Delita destroyed the racially biased caste system and displaced the political power of the church ushering in a renaissance of economic and cultural reforms.

He didn't throw that many people under the bus either, like obviously spies don't count and murdering other politicians was part of the system that existed before he got there.

For him it was about the common people, it was about everybody, not just the perverted traditions of the aristocracy.
>>
>>3897528

His sister was killed for no reason by the very nobles he spent his life serving in an act that showed how disposable they took to common working class people for.
>>
>>3899480
>fight for the proletariat
>get stabbed to death by the princess you saved

Is this, dare I say it, pottery?
>>
>>3897528

Imagine you and your sister are adopted by a rich kind man. You're not quite accepted as nobility, but you're taken care of. You befriend the kid's son and treat each other likes bothers. You two even go to military academy together. Later that man dies.

Flash forward, and your sister is kidnapped, after benig mistaken for one of the guy's daughters. The son of the guy who raised you, then orders the troops to go in, and kill everyone, including your sister. Everything you had assumed up until that point was wrong. These people are not your friends. Balbanes was the exception. The rest of the nobility are corrupt monsters. The system must be over thrown.

All because of a mistaken kidnapping, history is changed forever. Delia would probably have just become a low ranking officer in the military had that not of happened.

>Delita destroyed the racially biased caste system and displaced the political power of the church ushering in a renaissance of economic and cultural reforms.

What's this based on? What caste system? There was a standard feudal system in place, the nobility, the church, and the third estate. I don't remember anything about Delita over throwing that. The intro only says he was seen as a good king.
>>
The complexities off Delita and Ramza's relationship is some top notch writing for vidya
>>
>>3899863

Matsuno is wasted on games. He should write novels. Or pair up with an artist and make comics.

What in the hell is he doing right now anyways?
>>
>>3899860
the caste system is actually based off the real life system existing historically in india and japan (it still exists to some extent) whereby a person's birth dictated what roles they were to play in society, and because they'd be forced to handle say the slaughter of animals and the collections of corpses, they were said to be untouchables. this is why the death corps were really drafted as expendable soldiers, and the true reason why they were called that. the nobles had an ideology and cultural belief system that allowed them to treat them as being less than human.
>>
>>3899859
Delita would have just stayed with Ramza the whole time. There would have been no new commoner king, and Ovelia would have been used and manipulated for someone else to steal the throne, like Goltana or one of his puppet relatives.
>>
>>3899869
I think he got shut out of the professional games industry in japan for being gay and has been working underground pretty much
>>
>>3899895
>for being gay

serious? You sure it has ntohing to do with his games not selling?
>>
>>3899904
Japan is slower than you'd think in accepting homosexuals. It's not taboo, but in the business.and in industries it can seriously stunt your ability too climb the social ladder
>>
>>3899913

Kojima strikes me as bi. Way too much homo-eroeicism, and men in tight clothing in his games.

He does fine.

Matsuno's problem is that his games don't sell.
>>
>>3899904
the promotion and development environment is also effected
>>
>>3899480
>For him it was about the common people, it was about everybody, not just the perverted traditions of the aristocracy.

I don't trust people who claim to fight for everybody. They themselves become the very monsters they fight against, sometimes even worst.
>>
>>3899975
Don't claim to take the moral highground if you sit around doing fuck all while others suffer, coward.
>>
>>3899981
I've never claimed a moral higher ground, but claiming that you fight for everybody when you obviously don't makes you evil in my book and would need to be put down.

He's working on the new FFXIV expansion. The "Return to Ivalice" raid, he's directing the storyline for it. There was also an official Tactics parody for the previous expansion's raid for April Fools. Search "Tactics Alexander"

he never said that he was doing it. he just did it.

I wondered if there really was a caste system, or if the nobles we crossed path with were mostly dicks, like the older Beoulve brothers and fucking Argus.

I was under the impression it was more of a feudal system, with some peasants or bourgeois getting fed-up and wanting to overthrow the nobility.

Plus Teta was allowed in school with Alma, and even a commoner managed to be king. There may be some ethnic component to the social hierearchy, with conquests/invasions in the past, and it would be nice to have more history about how the kingdom came to be.
>>
>>3900671
The whole point of the game was that the nobility wasn't exactly "noble" people.
It's more the idea that most of them were dicks that viewed birthright and rank as reasons they were "superior" to the rest of the world. Just as a lot of nobility in the feudal eras did.

There wasn't a clear-cut "caste" setup in Ivalice like Indian culture has, just the rich and the peasants.

Then again, if there was, it may be a bit lost in translation (no pun intended) due to the localization process not bearing the best of fruit for FFT.
>>
>>3900671

Teta and Del where kind of exceptions because Ramza's pop took a liking to them.
>>
>>3900671
>Plus Teta was allowed in school with Alma,

Only because of Balbanes though. Otherwize that shit wouldn't fly. And Teta and Delita kept getting shit for it.

Ramza is NG and Delita is CN

Ramza is Chaotic Good and Delita is Lawful Good.
>>
This game sucks.
>>
Delita and Ramza follow diametrically opposed character arcs.

Delita spends his entire life coveting the power that titles and the nobility provide, as do all the other primary antagonists in the game. That power is the power to change lives, to make an impact, and to be remembered, something denied to those of common birth. Delita claims it as his own by the end of the story.

Ramza shows that true strength comes from one's convictions, whether or not the world knows of you and whether or not you cede that power entirely. As Delita sacrifices his humanity to attain power, Ramza slays his bretheren, damning the house of Beoulve to the history books and cedeing all claim to any future power he may have. He is forgotten, but he is a hero in all the ways that matter.

History doesn't say whether one is right or one is wrong, and that ultimately is the stance of the game as told by Arazlam. But men like Delita are created on the backs of heroes, and as Delita ponders at the end of the game, it is heroes like Ramza who are able to break free from the power structure in a way that Delita could only dream of, and are therefore happier men.

TL;DR: Delita allowed his trauma (from losing his sister to the discrimination he faced) to twist his desire from toppling the food chain to simply placing himself atop it and calling it revolution. The cycle continues for him while Ramza, who willingly ceded all power in the name of his own morality, broke free and lived a happy man and a hero to all those who know him. Shit's Shakespearean.

>>3903119
I don't think Delita covets power even once and if anything displays outright disgust towards it's concept and function in society. This is why he can so easily commit immoral actions, he has not a lick of pride about it and operates purely out of seething indignation.
>>
>>3903170
Covets is a poor choice of words, he more just wanted to take it away from the nobility and believed that in itself was enough of an action to make a great change, rather than the power of the nobility simply changing hands and perpetuating the same treachery.
>>
>>3903148
Are you still in high school?
>>
>>3901192
It was all for revenge. He didn't give a fuck about other people until his sister died.

>>3903119
>Delita spends his entire life coveting the power that titles and the nobility provide, as do all the other primary antagonists in the game.

These kinds of people are very common in the real world (e.g. 20th century dictators). They claim to fight for justice or help people. In reality, they're operating on a selfish motive. Delita is just a run-of-the-mill dictator. He's back story isn't even that unique.
>>
>>3903205
>They claim to fight for justice or help people. In reality, they're operating on a selfish motive.
Just like that pigfucker Muhammed~
>>
>>3903205
It was definitely not for revenge.
