Every weapon in heretic sucks. They look, sound, and feel like complete shit. Phoenix Staff and Hellstaff are alright, along with the neat electro-gauntlets, but everything was a step down from their DOOM equivalents.

I could agree with you now, but back in the day Doom's chaingun seemed way more badass and fun to me. I used to watch Predator and Terminator 2 a lot back then, both of which had awesome minigun scenes. Of course, using a minigun in an FPS is nothing special now but back in the early 90s...
