I know this is subjective, but what are some overlooked platforming series, preferably for predominantly non-Nintendo consoles? For example:
>Wonder Boy
>Adventure Island
>Commander Keen
>non-Nintendo consoles
>Commander Keen
The closest Keen has to a console is the GBC.

I didn't mean consoles that weren't Nintendo, I meant platforms that weren't Nintendo consoles. So DOS counts.
Also:
>Alex Kidd
Amiga
> Superfrog
> Brian The Lion
> Woody's World
> Quik The Thunder Rabbit
> Traps n Treasures
>Adventure Island
>non-Nintendo consoles
Anyway, what does it matter if it's on a Nintendo console or not? There are plenty of lesser known platformer in Nintendo consoles.
The series you mentioned are pretty famous, maybe a bit forgotten.

Damn, you're right about Adventure Island, woops.
Fine, whatever, any console, go nuts.
But mainly I think I am asking about series that have a mostly plain-looking look to them, graphics/color-wise. Something about it is charming to me.
Tomba/Tombi and the sequel on PS1.
