I got 99 cures for your insanity, but I ain't using one on you.
I might need them more in a later encounter.

he was awful as the joker
>Never use any rare or expensive restoratives through the whole game
>Get to the final boss
>Still never bother to use them
>>3864015
Yeah, there will always be a perfect time to use a rare and/or one-use powerup or item... It is just never now.
>find an elixir
>sell it

It's a good number. Now I am saving nothing and binging cash on a bunch of things.
>>3863040
I don't get it
>>3864919
The humour is derived from the absurdity of the notion that using an elixir is a crazy act, inspired by Jared Leto doing grade school pranks to get into character as the Joker. Typically, of course, Elixirs are not used, but rather saved for true necessity due to their rarity and usefulness so to use them might be seen as a crazy when of course it isn't that abnormal.
That's why it's funny.
>>3864867

If I ever make an RPG, I want to add a late-game NPC who trolls item-hoarders.
>Wow! You have 12 elixirs? What's the point of carrying all this stuff if you never use it?
And maybe add some endgame shop where elixirs are currency.
>>3865493
>laugh at you for hoarding
>offer an exclusive shop that only accepts hoarded items as currency
why?
>>3865493
First off fuck you tripfag.
Why the fuck would you troll a hoarder, then later reward them for doing so? Dont even make your game.
>>3865306
thanks friend
>Find stat-boosting seeds
>Use all of them on main character
>>3865493
Better way: An NPC will steal all your consumable items with no way to get them back. The point where it happens is random. It could be the first step you take, it could be right before the final boss.
>quit game
>"thank you for buying and playing our game! :)"

On that, don't you fucking hate that you can grind every stat to max, then you find out there are only 3 luck seeds in the entire game? Man this always seriously fucks with my OCD.
>>3864867
I feel like I'm in the same boat.
>Have nice job making $80k/year.
>Already own a house, fully paid.
>Yearly living expenses are about $8-12k which all basically goes to electricity, fuel, and food.
>Wind up putting $50k away every year and have no plans on what to do with the money.
I guess it'll go towards my kid's college one day, if I ever have kids. I don't have anything to really spend it on though, all I do is play video games for entertainment which is dirt cheap in the grand scheme of things.
>>3868406
Yeah, my new plan is to get a bit of a better job and go settle somewhere until I die. I'm going to fill my house with all manner of stupidity. A survival bunker for sure like all those crazy people for the Y2K. A hidden bookshelf door room. Maybe one of those four poster beds. You know, eccentric gaudy stuff.
I mean, what's it all for? I already tried that marriage thing, didn't end very well. Maybe adopt some kid someday after they turn five or something so I don't have to deal with the annoying part of childhood. I hear most people go for the infants so the older kids have a hard time, although I don't know if they'd give one to a single person. They give them to fags now, I think, so maybe I could score a kid.

Only problem: if you live in the United States, there's always a big danger that if you get something like cancer, aaaaaaall that money disappears practically overnight. Even with insurance.
Happened with my parents. My mom had to declare medical bankruptcy after my dad died of cancer.
>scripted boss fight is impossible to lose
>draw it out for as long as possible so it seems epic

IVE GONE OFF THE DEEP END

>>3869318

Funfact, a huge amount of FF bosses can be poisoned.
>>3869342
This. Bio is one of the best spells in the game. I used it more than anything else in IV 3D.
>>3868510
Both of my parents had cancer, we were able to afford treatment for both on just basic insurance. Not like it ruined our savings or anything, although we had to dip in there towards the end.
I imagine though for most Americans who live paycheck to paycheck, something unexpected like this will pretty much ruin them, especially if they don't have insurance to begin with. Overseas gets the best of both worlds though, we shell out tons of money every year for the best medical care in the world, and if you get sick in Europe and it's beyond their expertise, they'll pay (Or at least Sweden will, from chatting with other cancer patients from there) to ship you over to the US for treatment.
>>3869342
>Poison boss
>Deals 128 damage per tick.
>Boss has over 100k health.
At least poison in FFX was awesome, it did like 1/8 of an enemy's health every turn they took.
>>3869349
FFIV DS did a good job making status effects useful. Spells like Slow make a big difference against the bosses.
>>3869318
Like half of all Dragon Quest spells
What's the point
I'm just gonna spam attacks and other 0MP skills in random fights
>rent game
>delete all saves
>get to PONR
>keep overwriting main save file
>>3869342
there's always some effective status for at least first half bosses in every FF (and slow spells are almost always functional), the problem is wasting time with trial & error when you can just smash the boss into pieces
in FFV most bosses from the first half of the game aren't immune to death. You get the death spell pretty late but there's an axe that has a small chance to cast doom on the target, and it works in a surprising number of bosses. Big oversight by the programmers (although maybe that was fixed for the advance release)
>>3869856
This was me in ff8
Never finished it
No regrets
