That game is mediocre even by b-grade fighter standards. Neo Geo has dozens of games better than it. If I was you I'd just move on to KoF/Garou/SamSho/Last Blade/whatever.

It's made out like some kind of FGC pilgrimage that all fighting game fans need to take at least once and then you actually play it and it's nothing special.

It has around 7 neogeo games. They all work fine but lack online. Portability of the system and joycons for multiplayer is the only real draw. Otherwise, the games play like they always have but have leaderboards for high scores. No online multiplayer. KOF '98 was worth it.

Really? Never really seen that.
I thought the consensus was that it's a good game, but very style over substance and with a dramatic feel. Great BGs and animations, but everything else is pretty standard.

I've always chalked up the appeal (or at least some of it) to the fact it was made by the guy who went on to make Guilty Gear.

He was already given an answer before me, which leads us to another question: game's popularity. Fightcade has active rooms for popular games, usually good ones. WHP is none of these.
