For a series that became infamous for the absurd number of sequels and similar-(and dissimilar-) gameplay spinoffs produced in a relatively short time span, it is amazing how it has apparently become nearly impossible for Capcom to produce an actual new MM game.

How to make Rockman 6 100% better than it already is, two easy steps:

Sliding correction patch. They really fucked it in 6 as it's no longer possible to jump during a slide, and there is a small wait time after a slide. This fixes it:

Lag reduction patch. Barely any lag in the entire game anymore, which has plenty by default. This also speeds up scrolling speed during screen transitions (which was real slow) and does other things like being able to skip the power suits animation faster.

Alas, we're talking about Capcom, a company that has been fucking up its talent for years, but still managed to survive somehow.
Still, with MM10 basically repeating retro Mega Men, I'm not sure they need Inafune THAT much anymore. I think they could still make MM11 and make it good.

It’s not underrated. It’s only better than 5 and 1. The music and boss designs are amazing though.

Release a PC version of MMX2, a second Wily Wars, an arcade game that's an actual megaman game and not a lowest common denominator compromise between that and a fighting game or at least is an actual decent fighting game, refine megaman vs streetfighter and make it an actual retro game (NES, though genesis would be okay), port one of the old MM titles to master system, make MMX3 or MMX4 into a genesis game with a virtua processor or such in the cart. And then...

Make a Megaman Mini! How about one shaped like MM's head or a weapon energy capsule? No, you know what would be awesome, don't you? One shaped like an energy tank! Or like Rush Jet!

Mega Man 6 is the best Mega Man game and the best 8-bit platformer ever made.

I really hate how the collectables work. With the beat parts it forces you to either back track the levels or play them in a linear order so you have the correct rush adapter when entering the level. One of mega man's strength is the non linear level select, makes later playthroughs more fun. MUCH better then 5 though.

Speaking of 5, after its forgettable soundtrack I really aprreciate how well done 6's soundtrack is.

The last three (Mr. X stage, Wily stage, and the final battle) are some of my favorite NES songs. Love how dramatic they are, fitting of the last NES mega man title.
