From a composition standpoint FF6 OST is unbeatable. It dwarfs FF7 in comparison.

Forgetting the one word answers ffVIII (8) actually has the best sound track. Even if you dont like the combat system (like get good really) it invested way more into a memorable score. To me FF7 has an unmemorable score.
