I thought someone would make KOF(or other Neo Geo games after '94) soundfont someday, but what I ever saw was just metal slug 3 soundfont.
Seriously, is KOF soundfont is hard to make or have some specific reason to can't make it?

Well why haven't you done it then?

because it sounds like shit
>>3850160
well then there you go

One would need to rip the samples of the instruments used for the music in the game, and that would only work if the music in game used wavetable synthesis.
If the songs are prerecorded waveforms just being played back, one would have to manually go through the songs in an audio editor and attempt to isolate the instruments.
Making a soundfont out of game music would only be viable if the former is true (that or it used FM synthesis).
One would need each instrument to have samples of as many notes as possible. Artifically scaling a pitch or octave almost always sounds horrible.
Once thats been started, then one might want to map all of the instruments to the GM standard for MIDI playback without having to remap the instruments sets for every song/performance.
If you want to try that, grab an emulator (MAME, but FB Alpha might be ideal for this, as it has built in sound recording/interpolation options/etc.), start recording! Audacity works for editing. Creative Vienna, Swami, or Polyphone for compiling it all into a soundfont.
