Can't think of what else to add but that should get the thread going.
I'm leaving out "favorite game" because I think most CV games are good and you should be able to pick favorite stuff from different ones, instead of limiting yourself to only one of the titles.
favorite tiddyvania: sotn succubus
Playing Symphony of the Night for the first time, are there any non-Vlad relics in the second castle or did I just miss two? The ones I need are near the top of the list with Mist/Wolf/Bat/etc.

What the fuck was this guy's problem
amigavania did nothing wrong
>>3850003
Other than making fun of Australia-kun, what's Amigavania good for?
>>3850076
It innovated jumping while on stairs.
>>3850114
So, Amigavania is the real "Super Castlevania Bros" after all.
>>3850003
>>3850347
Mario games have stairs?
>>3851125
Mariovania levels do
>>3849932
I love Dir en Grey;
>>3850114
Not being able to jump on stairs wasn't a bad decision, though.
Soma Cruz is cute.

What are you, a commie?
>>3852226
That's Misa from Aioria though.
>>3852527
>That's Misa from Aioria though.
Mana sama from Malice Mizer ?!
Also, I miss the hell out of true kult gothic horror themed everything.
Fingers crossed for the Castlevania Netlix project.

> The Gameboy Advance Castlevanias are my favourites.
>>3852248
I'm just a fan of interesting game design. The stairs restricted the player and put them in a vulnerable position. Being able to jump on them undermines that quality a little.
>>3853913
stairs are a vulnerable place to be in a fight

>Level/Set Piece
The Treasury level in Dracula's castle in Castlevania 4.

Skeletons. There's just something so satisfying about killing them, even the hit sound and death sound in a lot of the games, I can't really explain it.
>Music
Retro: Simons Theme
Non-retro: A Toccata Into Bloodsoaked Darkness
>Boss Fight
Death. In most of the games. I'm always excited to fight Death.
>Background Graphic
Eehh, I don't know. There's a lot of great backgrounds.
>Sound Effect
The sound of damaging bosses with the whip in CV4.
>Splash Screen
Not really sure.

>There's a difficulty hack of DOS
God dammit I need to play this, DOS was embarrassing easy except for Agni, and he's only hard the first few times
>>3855230
Okay this hack is a load of bollocks. It pretty much lags the game to shit by throwing hundreds of bats at you in the second room of the castle.

Salsa my friend?
>>3856584
Wasn't he supposed to be the strongest Belmont (in retro anyway, I don't know much about later games)? Ironic that we ended up fighting him.
>>3856591
He is considered the strongest Belmont including modern, he's the only one to have high strength and magic, others usually have one or the other or one and a little of the other
>>3856642
I heard the old guy Belmont in the GBA games is so strong he actually defeated Dracula? Like Dracula actually dies and got reincarnated or something?
>>3856648
Dracula dies in all the games
In the newest one before the Kojima reboot with Trevor. he was killed by Julius Belmont
He can't be revived

I know. Also, I'm suprised with the amount of Castlevania fangames there are, that no one ever tried to make a Malize Mizer themed one.

Julius vs Richter would be a good fight.

>>3858493
it'd be pretty rad to see a Castlevania game that's a prologue of sorts, where you play as Julius and in order to become worthy of the Vampire Killer you have to traverse an old castle that's been in the Belmont family and you need to defeat the previous Belmonts to prove your worth to kill Dracula in a Metroidvania style of game. More Belmonts you kill the more Characters you can run through the game with
each having their own (dis-)advantages over just a simple palette swap
good idea or is my autism popping upor both?
>>3856589
There's an article on it on wikipedia. Apparently like 4 episodes starring an 'all-new Belmont character' and following the plot of CV3.
>>3859448
Same guys. After Aioria ended, the main guitarist/synth guy, MISA, started BABYLON with the guys from RusH. They have a very similar style and a pretty consistent career, but he doesn't dress up as a girl anymore and just accepted being bald.

You're probably going to find the albums/EPs in Visual Kei/J-Rock sites. Might be a little trickier nowadays to get everything in one place since MegaUpload and RapidShare are no longer primary means of sharing music and most spanish/brazilian blogs for aficionados used to host in those, but I'm going to have a look around and try to find it for you. I have everything Babylon on my main computer, but I'm travelling right now and won't be back there for at least two weeks, so I can't just upload it.
>>3855076
>Sunken City
This is where CVIII peaked for me. It has some of the best music in the game, and the boss fight where you have to escape and finish him off is genius. I can't think of any moments to top that.

Sypha Belnades (she married a Belmont so she's a Belmont)

The room that you fight Death in in Castlevania 1, because you can see Kuwabara's face in it. YER A MESHY
>>3860950
By the way I just realized that on the video of "Leopardess Marry" the girls just hangs herself at the end.... damn.
>>3849970
Did you get all the familiars and the extra abilities for wolf/mist/bat? IIRC all 3 have an extra ability, mist lets you be poison, I think bat lets you shoot fire, forget what the other wolf one does. I don't think theyre necessary to complete the game either so you can miss them
>>3860135
Seeing the 1999 war would be bad because it could never live up to our expectations, like the Star Wars prequels
Is Bloodlines on Genesis the most underrated Castlevania? I never see it talked about and most people either say they haven't heard of it or haven't played it.
IMO it's certainly not the best Castlevania but it's very different for a Classicvania experience and it's got some unique bosses and level designs. I love the flooding level 2 and the way you can fuck up that wizard boss.
It sucks a little for not having a Belmont but you at least can play as a cool guy with a spear instead if you want
>>3853913
I don't mind not being able to jump off from the stairs--I don't think there's any classic CV that lets you do that--but it's fucking retarded to not be able to jump up the first few stairs and skip past it. Rondo does it the best; I don't want to waste my time and align my shit at the bottom, just let me jump and hold up and lock onto the stairs
