Don't have pics but when I was 10 or 11 I thought it would be a good idea to paint my PlayStation controller yellow using a can of spraypaint my dad used to paint baseball helmets. I literally just set it on a piece of newspaper and coated it.

Well honestly for a short video series I don't really think he'd have the time to fully reverse engineer everything, especially considering the fact that he isn't even the owner and has 24/7 access to it and since there's no documentation for the system itself there's not a whole lot else he can do and I wouldn't judge his knowledge just from these videos. I've made my own consolized game gear and the hardest part was making it fit in a box. It's so flaky, I'm worried it's going to break pushing a cartridge in.

At least using a game gear shell will make sure it's sturdy. 3D printing would be a valid option now, but it's a fairly new thing. Idk when that picture was taken.
