I always thought some of these were neat, since they were prompts that you would never see unless you owned the (in)correct hardware, meaning you may never see it if you only had the correct setup.

Like if you didn't have the super CD card 3 for the PC Engine, it would load a totally diffrent thing on Castlevania Che No Rondo.

You're talking bullshit mate.
Pokemon Crystal does make use of additional RAM the GBC provides.
You can modify a crystal ROM to boot up in GB mode without showing that screen.
The graphics will be glitched (though that's for another reason) and once the game reaches the overworld the game will freeze because it needs that additional RAM

This one is pretty neat. You can enter a code on this screen that allows you to play an early version of the game, even on an original Game Boy.
