Guess what's on the front page of Wikipedia right now?

cool!

What in the flying hell?
>>
>>3832636
That sounded very tender and nice, makes me want to emulate try the game.
>>
>>3832743
Jap don't crap

I mean crack
>>
>>3832746
make sure to emulate the 3D pad since the game controls better with it
>>
>>3832629
I miss experimental Sonic Team

This, Nights, Ristar, they were bitching
>>
>>3832629
A gay ass game only dumb losers pretend to like? No thanks.

Acting like Saturnshit is anything but total garbage is the pinnacle of contrarian edge.
>>
>>3832629
As a big saturn fan I really really tried to like this game, but honestly it's kind of awful. It's kind of interesting, but that doesn't really carry the experience for me.
>>
>>3832825
I'm not defending the Saturn, I'm making fun of your tryhardness.

For sure. I appreciated the experience but I don't think I can replay it like I can't replay the first panzer dragoon. Dat performance.
>>
>>3832825
/v/ is that way
>>
>>3832827
I actually played Burning Rangers recently, since for some reason I never got around to finishing the game when I was a kid. I don't get why they forced you to use passwords to unlock the additional difficulty levels and hidden characters.
>>
>>3832870
>>3832827

It's one of those games where the premise and style are great, but not so much the execution. It's the kind of game that really needs a sequel.
>>
>>3832937
It feels like it should've been made for the Dreamcast.
>>
It's an unfinished game, it's like a demo of itself.

EXCELLENT theme song though
>>
>>3832992
>>3832937
>sequel
If the Dreamcast lived longer, they might have made one.

That's a pretty based sentiment. Even Cop had you gunning people down left and right and yeah they call it the STUNNER but you're still capping asses.
>>
>>3832629
In urgent need of a remake.
>>
>>3833080

>remake meme

No. Those never work. Instead a sequel.
>>
>>3832761
They didn't make Ristar
>>
>>3833075
The weird thing is that Burning Rangers does feel like a DC game that was made for the Saturn because Yuji Naka couldn't wait another year for the new console. It really only uses four of the six face buttons since AX just duplicates the function of CZ respectively.
>>
>>3833078
The Stunner was just a bullshit name Sega came up with for the U.S. market. It was called the Virtua Gun everywhere else, even in Yurop.
>>
>>3833078
Virtua Cop has a justice shot, where if you just shoot the gun out of a bad guys hand (instead of killing them outright), you get bonus points.
>>
>>3833863
True, but the way to score in Virtua Cop is to first repeatedly shoot each enemy to raise the multiplier, and then do Justice Shots.
>>
There are people who actually look at the featured article?

Anyone here edit wikipedia?

We should do monthly/weekly wiki improvement drives. As in we all gang up on one article, and improve it.
>>
>>3832827
>>3832937
Glad to see people are finally agreeing with me on this. I really loved the idea of Burning Rangers, but in execution found it a bit underwhelming. For ages though you never heard a critique against it, for some reason. I will admit that I'm pretty mixed on most Sega games as it is though, so that's partially why I didn't take to it very well.
>>
>>3834528
I do. If people want to get involved, there is tons of work to do and guidelines to help you get started on the Video Games wikiproject page. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:WikiProject_Video_games

Don't forget PS FUCKING O
>>
>>3835371
I don't understand why they took the PS franchise from Overworks and gave it to Sonic Team. Not that I'm complaining. Just wondering.
>>
>>3835374
This is just a wild guess, but maybe they did it to let Overworks focus on new IP (Skies of Arcadia)
>>
>>3832629
wait. Why was it?
>>
>>3835578

It was a featured article.
>>
>>3835578
Because despite what overly critical /vr/ nerds might say (and admitted Nintendrones, who are always unfairly critical of anything Sega, while overlooking any and all flaws in Nintendo games) the game was actually pretty well received at the time it was released. As was said in the thread, the game is usually praised. It just so happens that this particular thread attracted detractors almost exclusively.
>>
>>3832629
Based
>>
>>3835603

Funny thing is I bet most of those detractors haven't even played the game.
>>
>>3835593
Actually, not at all.

It was on the front page because it was a featured article. That means one editor worked very hard to bring it up to encyclopedic standards, then shepherded it through several peer reviews and the featured article nomination process. It has nothing to do with the quality or notability of the game itself.
>>
>>3835631
Well, why go to all that effort for a game no one has played or heard of or that was notable for any reason?
>>
>>3835648
Because at least one editor wanted to bring it to the front page for whatever reason.

I'm not saying that Burning Rangers or other featured articles aren't notable. If it isn't notable enough, then there will not be enough reliable source material out there to write a thorough enough article to be considered for featured status.
>>
>>3832629

It's crazy to think this uses the NiGHTS engine.
>>
>>3835376
>maybe they did it to let Overworks focus on new IP (Skies of Arcadia)

That does explain why Skies has such a great story yet such a tedious battle system.
>>
>>3835648
>Well, why go to all that effort for a game no one has played or heard of or that was notable for any reason?

Cuz one person liked the game enough.
>>
>>3832743
Japanese genetics. Look up on youtube for a movie called Bloodsport. The villain, Chong Li, was 52 years old by then. He looked half his age.
