Hey,
So this turned up in my place of work. Just wondering if anyone knows what the deal with the weird blue label is? People over at /V/ seem to think it's just discolouration but it doesn't have a faded look to apart from where the Nintendo logo should be. Someone mentioned you guys might have a better idea with this thing.

It looks like it's been on display exposed to the sunlight for years.
>>3831663
Sun exposure and/or printing error. Probably the former.
>>3831663
Really?
It's shocking how you was able to even turn the computer on.
L@@K ~~~RARE~~~ !!!BLUE LABEL!!!
!!!!!USD$150!!!!!
The magenta and yellow dyes have faded to nothing. This leaves cyan, black and the gold foil of the quality seal.
Simples.

Quick, send it to byuu for preservation
>>3831708
impressive
>>3831663
The ink faded, leaving the cyan and key inks. Sunlight exposure will have that kind of effect.
It's faded from light exposure the fact you had to make a thread to find that out tells me you are retarded KYS OP

This gave me a nerd laugh then it made me laugh again as I visualized byuu attempting to literally preserve a pal snes pcb in alcohol.
>>3831663
The idea of a bunch of teenagers on /v working together to figure out the foreign concept of sunfading of old media is endlessly amusing.

It's the ultra rare blue label golden back version. The last one sold in the internet for $13,000.
>>3831663
It's the euro version of Super Mario World with a sunfaded label and a yellowed cartridge.
You could get 5 maybe even 10€ for it on ebay.
Jokes aside, up close you can't see it well, but in the thumbnail you can clearly see the faded remains of old colours.
look at the label under a microscope and see if you can find tracer of Magenta. If you can see it faintly, your cart is worth dogshit.
If there's honestly no Magenta rasters —at all—, you've found a literally ultra rare cart that's label was printed when the magenta ink plate had no ink left.
Probably not the latter though
you've got the rare super mario sunshines snes cartridge

I guess you can simply fuck up your monitor to display it like that. Or make a /vr/-approved shader at least.
Inb4 how the devs intended
I don't see anything wrong with it other than it spent 10000 years to direct sunlight.
>>3833387
Shit, even the graphics were affected by sunlight.
