I have yet to play any of these spin-off entries. Actually haven't played any I'd the main series since 4 and 5 sucked so much ass. Are these others worth playing? I think they also have a rail shooter - definitely not interested in that one.

the chronicles games+survivor 2 are rail shooters

the outbreaks are awkward but still enjoyable if you can ignore the AI, although you can play online via emulator. shame there's no HD outbreaks... they are, however, tank control REs

and the revelations titles, in my opinion, were great. granted, they play a bit like 4, 5, and 6 rather than the older tank control games

just don't touch ORC or umbrella corps
