I love the Karnov character. I love how he is some kind of fucked up Mario, an ugly fucker that looks like a deranged child molester, but he still kicks butt and is an awesome fighter.
And I love how the character evolved, from a simple strongman mascot to the Karnov's Revenge scarred fighter. Mascots usually don't change, they don't get mature, usually they get even cuter, but ol 'nov is different.

I like to recreate Karnov in every game that features custom characters. My favourite one was the sex-crazed Karnov I created on The Sims 3.

Fighter's Destiny 3 when? Karnov on KOF when? How ugly Karnov will look on his next appearance?

I have SA's bizarre fetish for Karnov in the 2000s to thank for even knowing about the guy, and I've been intrigued by him, Chelnov, and Trio the Punch ever since. The three are almost an unofficial trilogy, Trio costarring a billion Karnovs and Chelnov as a boss. One of the SNES Fighter's History games has Chelnov playable too, so both the 'novs lived on in that series.

STORY

Go Karnov! Save The Earth!!

This story begun at a town in Kuriamina region surrounded by mountains and sea.
A misfortune came to the town...

Demon Arakatai, deity of the darkness invaded the town.
People resisted with full of force but the enemy was far stronger.

God watched the incident on the earth and commanded his servant Karnov.
"Karnov, go and kill Arakatai".

"If you kill him, I will free you from my servant"
Karnov departed to the battle with assistance of god.

Bomb - You can obliterate some obstacles, make passage, kill enemy.

Boomerang - Eight times stronger than normal bullet. Catch it when it returns.

神の怒り
God's Wrath - Kills all enemies on screen, except bosses.

メガネ
Glasses - You can find hidden items. the indicator on lower part of the screen flickers.

水中マスク
Diving mask - You can move faster in water. Usable only in water.

ウイング
Wing - Use it to fly, but usable at limited places.

シールド
Shield - Guards you from enemy attacks up to five times. No effect to rear attacks.

Kマーク
K marks - Collect 50 marks to get an extra life. Have some relations to the ending...

Each minion is very characteristic and tough.
But However strong they are, Karnov have to fight them!
Because it is the trial God imposed on Karnov!
Now the introduction of enemies begins. Almost all enemies are set on the earth
and fixed where to emerge. Learning their patterns makes your play easier.

There's no way that's what the anon meant. There's a difference between being influenced by something and being a "ripoff" of something.

Besides that, I've followed Toriyama's art for a long time, and he doesn't color even remotely similar to Sugimori, Sugimori's coloring is one of the more unique things about his art. Or at least it used to be before gen 3 came along.

Its got weird controlls for it's items and a bunch of odd things to work around, but I like the game a lot.
Understand, it is a bit rough to get in to but once you get the feel of it, blasting shit super fast with your main attack is a lot of fun.

approaches Karnov from left and right on foot. he swings a sword.

岩投男(灰) Boulder thrower (gray)
throws large boulders at a constant period. boulders can be destroyed.

火炎魔人(緑) Flame evil (green)
goes up and approachs Karnov if you attack him. moves past Karnov if you didn't.

appears like swordsman, but throws knives.
