Nothing wrong with buying loose Gen carts fAm. Just do what I do.

>ask store owner if you can just buy the case for the cost difference between a loose copy

Have only had one guy say no and it was a kid working by himself so he probably figured he didn't have the authority to separate a CiB.

I'm amazed that works. CiB is a premium over cart alone + Box + manual separately. Hell, half the CiB stuff on ebay is probably bundled from separate auctions to get that premium.

Well like I said I pay the difference.

For example: Let's say game "x" is $10 loose and goes for $18 CiB. I offer $8 just for the case + instruction manual and they get to keep the game and still sell it loose for $10.

So in the end they don't lose any money on the deal and I get what I want.

I stopped actively searching around 2 years ago, took me about 4 years to collect those. If I liked/kept sports/racing and other shitty games I would have double to 3 times what you see...

Unless the game came in a plastic keep case, there is literally no reason to spend extra on boxes. Even the Genesis boxes are redundant, I prefer them for consistency myself, but I've even seen people's DS collections where they don't own a single case.
