I love the gameplay too, but the Butoden games have a very comfy art style and nice, big stages with foreground layers, it just feels good looking at it (not to mention the music is also great).

I liked it when backgrounds were 2D. You were able to see the whole thing regardless where the 3D camera was pointing at. Now they feel claustrophobic when you get cornered and you can see nothing but the blurry texture of the wall your head is being smashed on.
