Weird question but are there any dungeon crawler-style games that don't take place IN a dungeon? Rather a forest, underwater, in space, a variety of landscapes, etc.

Might and Magic 1 is practically one big overland dungeon dotted with smaller dungeons.
Wizardry 6 goes through a variety of environments. However the EGA version uses the same castle walls for everything so you'll have to play the console ports to see a difference.

Fatal Labyrinth for Genesis takes place in a tower that might as well be a dungeon. Very underrated crawler, randomized maps, items, and enemies make it highly replayable.

Lands of Lore has forest areas but it does also have underground dungeons.
