I'm looking for some fun multiplayer (2-4 player) games for the original playstation I can play with my nieces and nephews. While I already introduced them to crash bash and bishi bashi special (which they fucking loved) I'm looking for something a bit more cerebral. Like twisted metal or something more competitive, I want to hear your opinions.

Bomberman Party Edition is definitively the best Bomberman game for PS1 at least.
Behind the cute visuals bomberman games are usually pretty intense, it gets more addicting the more you play.Random tip: This screen is not a difficulty selection, depending of your pick the choices of characters and arenas will change, in Advanced each character has a special power.

I guess, but its confusing as fuck for newcomers... especially for being such a "simple" game.
I hear Team Buddies is really good. Sometimes me and my friends play Board Game Top Shop, but its not for everybody.
2 player Metal Slug X co-op is rad. You can bring it over to any friends house who has a large CRT, give him a few beers and you'll be having a blast for at least 40 minutes.

Well, just explain what items do, how to use them, and what each character power is. Nobody gets perfect in a game under 5 minutes.
Once you get the thing rolling, it will really roll.
btw Metal Slug X is indeed pretty cool, even if 3 is my favorite.

Come on now, it's not some sort of lost forbidden magic, the items are pretty straightforward for most part, and the ones that aren't you will eventually guess over little time or just watching the CPU.
