blackhawk/ blackthorne
>>3813385
Are you me?
Also, Commander Keen, Lemmings, Skyroad, Serf City (aka Settlers 1), and Syndicate. Used to play Syndicate so much but ugh that terrible mouse tracking is just garbage now.
>>3813283
Executioners
Dark Forces, DOOM, Duke Nukem 3D
TIE Fighter is also great.
Star Control 2
>>3813669
>Civilization
>Dune 2
>Jagged Alliance
>Master of Orion 2 (and 1)
>Master of Magic
>Star Control 2
>UFO: Enemy Unknown
>Warcraft 2
I love all these games
Maniac Mansion 2
Purely for nostalgia, though.
>>3813283
This was my first dos game. Spent a lot of hours with it.
Commander Keen (esp. 4 and 6), Doom, Jill of the Jungle, Xargon, Jazz Jackrabbit, Tyrian, One Must Fall: 2097, ZZT. Those DOS games pretty much defined my childhood, at least for computer games. Honorable mentions to Crystal Caves/Secret Agent and Monster Bash, as well.
HeXen
I just really like the level designs
>>3815040
I thought I was the only man alive who actually liked Hexen. Everyone in the Doom groups usually shits all over it.
ULTIMA 7
Alone In The Dark, Dark Forces, ROTT, Duke3D, Doom, Solar Winds, Monkey Island 2, Secret Weapons of the Luftwaffe, Aces over Europe, Red Alert
in roughly that order
>>3813569

>>3818410
Damn good one
Does anyone know where I can fin that SUPER old Red Barron game?
mid 80's, Purple/pink plane, and you go back and forth dropping bombs on ground targets. On the second or third level a plane shows up to shoot you.
Graphics were on par, or worse than the first Invader side scroller.
>>3814219
HELL YEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
need more nets.
>>3818293
Fuck SkyRoads, that shit is impossible.
ok.... it's fun in a rage-y way.
>>3818303
Q-basic Gorillas.
I am a God Champion at that game. It was fun making a banana tunnel through the buildings.
>>3813669
I know my opinion won't be popular, but that entire list is years too new for me to consider them "DoS" games.
>>3818426
I had more fun modifying Q-basic Gorillas than I did actually playing that game. You could do all kinds of crazy stuff with basically no knowledge of programming. Scorched Earth had way better game play though.
>>3818445
I "infected" all my middle school computers with it so I could challenge all my classmates. I was a banana bully.
Do you know if some mad genius made a browser version yet?
Other than doom and duke3D, probably this, or maybe One Must Fall 2097.
>>3818453
Hell yeah they did, google search that shit.
>>3814428
Skyroad was a fav of mine. Still is!
>>3817549
I want a time sheet for my life so I can find out how many hours I spent in Lierokit.
>>3813669
Played and loved over 40 of those (diskette sections). Some of my all time favorites there. However, right now I can also think of a few Epic Megagames I also enjoyed like Solar Winds and Zone 66 which are not on that chart. Also, I loved the Legend of Kyrandia games which I cannot find on that chart either.
I had so much fun with DOS games back then. There was rec.games.computer those interesting dodgy warez sites/IRC channels which also helped in exposing me to games I wouldn't have originally tried/bought like UFO turning out to being one of my all time favorites. So hard to pick just one. I kept a 486DX4 all the way until 2008 when I by some madness I thought "DOSbox is plenty good now, may as well toss this old thing" and now I regret trying to escape my hoarding nature.
Here, some sounds to remember the times with:

Commander Keen!
mother fucking D/Generation. Every few months since I was 16 I would search for it from a vauge "old game I would play on my brother's dos comp as a kid that had an isometric point of view and neon colors" description, and a few weeks ago it showed up on a DOS essentials images someone posted. It's a great puzzle game and though controls can be frustrating, about as good as Another World .
No one mentioned
Wing Commander
Wizardry
I grew up on wizardry, days and days and days and days. Wiz 7 was my favorite.
I have the map somewhere, drawn one quart inch at a time
And old school,
Overlord, wiz 7
You couldn't even turn it on without looking up a specific word on a specific page
>>3813283
doom and skyroads
>>3813283
The Horde
Inner Worlds
some of my favourite games
why does nobody ever talk about them?
>>3813385
Shiiit, I had crystal caves. Always thought it was crystal caverns
>>3814581
Oh man, I had this horrible atrocity...
>>3820698
Wizardry was my jam son. 6 and 7 on DOS, and even 8 later on Windows is pretty good. I never could beat any of them but it didn't matter because the journey was the best part. Hell even the character creation was interesting, races had actual different abilities. Sucked if you didn't know what you were doing, you'd find out many hours deep into the game that your party sucked. I've been feeling another bout of Wiz7 coming on as a matter of fact
>>3814730
Mah nigga.
Daggerfall
Princess Maker 2
the Doom games
Wolfenstein 3D
The Colonel's Bequest
Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis
Alley Cat, but the Atari version is better.
I've been playing Telengard a lot lately. It's cool and fun, but also bullshit.
>>3813283
Pool of Radiance. The only AD&D game I ever loved.
Three sisters story
Season of Sakura
HoMM2
>>3813283
Return to Zork

>>3819431
This games look like they belong on the PC-98 desu.
>>3829326
AHSUKA!
FUKKEN MATH RESCUE BAYBEEE
And word rescue too
>>3825071
Some anon obviously does not comprehend the pure magic of the DOS VN's.
Man, better times.
>>3829621
Somebody who plays them pillarboxed in 1280x720 and saves screenshots as jpg certainly doesn't appreciate them.
>>3829630
I don't even have a version of yu-no anymore haha I just looked this screen up on google
Blood
>>3813283
Round 42
Toonstruck is my favourite
>>3818493
Stunts was amazing and the lack of a modern alternative is honestly weird. There's Trackmania I guess, but its approach is very different with short levels, quick restarts and incredibly arcadey handling.
>>3814219
You are the fucking man!
I wad trying so hard to remember this game that brought me so much joy as a kid and I could never quite remember it.
Thanks bro
Arctic Adventures anyone? Game was pretty difficult but it was one of the earlier DOS games I remember playing
>>3829621
Paradise Heights for Win95 is noice.
Prince of Persia definitely. It's the first game I've ever played.
