the fmvs were really pretty for the time though. i only bought ff8 because my cousin told me the whole game had graphics as good as the cutscenes in ff7.

During the game it's hard to distinguish which of his actions are his own cuntery, or inspired by the will of Jenova.

I prefer VII's graphics to VI actually, even today.

VII has a much more vibrant and lifelike feel due to the excellent pre-rendered backgrounds. There are tons of memorable locations that stand out. VI (like most 2D jrpgs from that time) relies on tilesets and feels very generic as a result. Only a handful of locations/scenes in that game really stand out to me.

Same here, VI wasn't very good in terms of 2D graphics, even at the time. When VII came out it was very impressive and beautiful to look at (if played on a CRT with composite connection, not the dithered bright mess you see on steam or whatever).

Is Crisis Core worth playing? I've read it kinda misses the point entirely. Others say it's the "BEST THING EVAAA I CRI" but those also don't tell you why.
