So I'm planning on replaying FFVI soon and have only ever played the GBA version and don't know what version to play now.

I'm going to be emulating anyway so should I play the PS1 remake or stick with the original SNES version? What are the major differences?

I'd stick with the SNES version, the PS1 version has load times for things like battle transitions, opening the menu, etc.

The PS1 version is trash and is easily the worst version

The GBA version is good because it has new content, fixes some things, and has a better translation. However, the SNES version has MUCH better sound and, IIRC, graphics too.

The absolute best way to play is to emulate the GBA release, and patch it with the sound/graphics patches. They're somewhere on romhacking.net

Fuck, hadn't even thought of doing this. Will definitely look into emulating the GBA version with fixes.

I just finished the SNES version, and I've been kicking myself for not doing that. (Also because ~~I DIDN'T FUCKING WAIT FOR SHADOW~~)
