Yup. In Houston, Retropalooza will be April 22-23.

Personally, I've never been to this one. I occasionally do attend the Arcade Expo. That one is a ton of fun.

Haven't been to Retropalooza yet, but I've been to the last two "Let's Play" conventions in Plano. Don't give a shit about the guests, it was fun to meet up with another anon and play arcade games. I just hope that this year the guy brings the Japanese pc's back.

The only big people that go to it are boogie and matpat. The rest are gamechasers circlejerkers.

I went to the most recent Let's Play Expo as well. It was pretty fun, the arcade had some neat stuff. Didn't go the year before, but I think the guy you mentioned who brought the JP PC stuff was RobIvy64/Obsolete Geek on YouTube.

Unfortunately it looks like they won't be in Plano again this year and instead are moving it to Las Colinas.

It's mostly a dealers' convention. Much like the Portland Retro Gaming Expo's swap meet.

And fuck hell, it does not need to be like MAGfest. The dealer's room is a joke. The arcade is half broken systems. The console area is in desperate need of Clorox wipes by the metric ton. And the same fucking shitty voice actors over and over again, getting drunk and being stupid with their hangers on. I had to stop going to that after two or three years ago.

Nope. I attended with an irl friend, though I'd have no problem meeting people from /vr.

I might bring some of my rarer games + relevant consoles + monitor for the game room, but I'd honestly be too paranoid of something getting stolen to leave it all unattended.

Hey anons. I live in Plano as well. I've been to the Let's Play Expo the past 2 years in a row and had a good bit of fun. Sad to hear it might not be back this year. I managed to get a few decent games from there as well.
