Looks fun. I'll def check it out.

Fuck the haters, Puchi Carat is fantastic.
>>

PS1 version is best because of the adorable voice acting!

I can't even imagine playing this on a phone, it gets so fast and hectic on V Hard
>>
>>3794537
That game is the only reason I buy Sega 3D classics collection.
Very fun and adictive like a drug also Arle a cute.
>>
>>3795318
I've only played arcade and the ps2 Taito legends versions. Might try and pick up the ps1 version.
>>
>>3795395
Oh, I don't know about the PS2 Taito Legends version. Does it have voice acting?

Sure does. Its a great collection in general though, would recommend getting it if you like games at all.
>>
>>3795103
Probably the best puzzle game ever made. Money Puzzle Exchange is really good too.
>>
>>3795103
Why exactly did this franchise die?

There was no 3DS title, and it seems weird. Not even some stupid $10 shit with no versus AI mode.
>>
>>3795103
I don't get why Nintendo just stopped giving a fuck about this franchise. Especially nowadays, it seems tailor made for smart phones.

>>3795613
Wasn't it incorporated into a recent Animal Crossing? That's the last thing I remember.

It seems like the biggest issue has been finding a good brand/image. The loli thing frankly should stay in Japan, but they have to do something more. Just calling it "Puzzle League" and looking incredibly generic isn't attracting any new fans. Maybe just plunder a franchise again.
>>
>>3795668
I'm ok with Pokemon being used.
Hearing "cloyster" descent into madness as my chain get bigger and bigger was great

>>3795613
There was no way to improve it, besides a better AI. But even with a better AI, the fun of vs eventually gives way to endless.
>>
>>3795726
You're right that you can't improve it, but that never stopped Nintendo.

I dont really get the appeal of these games. They just seem tedious and boring to me.

Could i get a quick rundown of why they are good/fun and how to enjoy them?
>>
>>3795726
>>3795885
I think they've made some good improvements over the years -- lifting during a chain comes to mind. Some other additions not so much (those items in PPL are fucking stupid).

I also think there's room for improvement. I like how in Puyo you can cancel your opponent's garbage blocks with your own chains, and I think something similar would be new and interesting for PdP.
>>
>>3795951
Despite your meme, I will answer.

It's just a fast-paced game where you have to think-fast to make chains and make better chains than the person you're playing against
It can be repetitive but so are most games.
>>
>>3795951
It didn't click for me until I got better at making extended chains. It's like juggling, and very satisfying when you get good at it. Here's a pretty good example of making chains that might give you a sense of what I mean.

Shit, my bad about the abbreviations.

I like Meteos, but never got too far into it. I liked how different worlds affected the gameplay.

Ah so its the same deal as Puyo Puyo in regards to it really shining once you get a grasp on chaining things together. Seems i owe it another go.
>>
>>3796079
Puyo Puyo and Puzzle League, imo, are probably the most competitive puzzle games.
They're both designed specifically for battling someone.
>>
>>3795951
The better you get, the more into it you get.

You can download Pokemon Puzzle League on DS and it's the best game in the series anyways.

No real point in making a full blown DS/3DS game unless there's something new to do with it and there's not much new that's needed.
>>
>>3794537
Neo Geo Pocket
card fightans.
>>
>>3796084
I agree with this guy. Puyo is slightly more fun to me but they're both excellent and a good step above the other block games.

Though Puyo vs Tetris is a lot of fun.
>>
>>3795668
>Wasn't it incorporated into a recent Animal Crossing?
Yep. Even has a full blown story mode vs. and such. It's basically a new PDP game just shoved inside of New Leaf for some reason.
