I'm getting a new desktop soon and I want a reliable SNES emulator, any suggestions?

snes9x

this

I use this and ZSNES. Whatever works.
ZSNES da best.
OK nice, thanks for the suggestions
bsnes, BizHawk, Snes9x, ZMZ, and RetroArch are all fine.
Avoid ZSNES.

Mednafen is the best unless you're retarded.
Retroarch is good too, but slower
Otherwise I prefer ZSNES, but I never played any jap localized games on it.

get snes9x on your desktop so you can get snes9x ex on your mobile smartphone, that way you can leave the games and emulator on dropbox or other such cloud share folder and continue from where you left off from desktop on the mobile.
zsnes is the one with netplay with z-net add-on but autists will cry about inaccuracy of emulation. The games will all play, though.
ZSNES is the most accurate SNES emulator.

Higan if your PC is strong (at least 3GHz), go with it and never look back.
If your PC is even slightly weaker, Snes9x should do.
RetroArch has them all but I personally prefer having them separately.
ZSNES is only good for some people because muh nostalgia despite the fact other emulators made it obsolete.
Everything else is shit except for maybe Mednafen but you can try if you want.
Snes 9X.
Higan its the most accurate but it's painfully uncomfortable to use, besides being much slower.
>There are people still using zsnes in 20017

Zsnes is good for netplay

Retroarch is better.
>>3777636
zsnes will do

I'm using snes9x on the wii homebrew and I wanna buy a classic controller, will a knockoff brand work or do I have to buy an official one?
I don't mind buying an official one if I have to but I was kinda looking at this snes knockoff one to play homebrew with.

Zsnes people are just memeing. Go get Snes9x
I used to swear by Zsnes. The sprite layer stuff is fun to mess around with and the interface feels more like a whole different computer rather than an emulator. It's comfy/10.
But its outdated. It's features are not very friendly. It even still takes .BMP screenshots. It has no mobile ports, therefore no synergy with mobile emulators.
Snes9x overtook it. And don't even think about Bsnes, it's total shit.
recommendations for an OSX port?
dosn't look like a sne9x build exists

nm found a recent version

Doesn't Higan have a performance version for weaker computers?
>>3782253
got rid of it once snes9x became better in accuracy and performance
zsnes is horribly inaccurate and uses many speedhacks. avoid it like the plague. any version of bsnes/higan would be preferred and have different types as well I believe (accuracy, performance, balanced) I think there is an osx version of bizhawk which uses bsnes or higan for the snes core.

This.
Higan's performance version is still slower and less accurate than Snes9x, oddly enough.
>>3782128
I've see an ibuffalo pad mentioned a few times
>>3782465
Horse shit.
Bsnes performance > snesGT > snes9x

my barley's top of the shelf

>18,000 years from now and there are still people using ZSNES
Sad!
