You sound like a child, you're in no position to be complaining about others.

In this case, mentioning the gf context isn't all that bad because it actually adds to the story.
Saying "I found this at someone's house" would feel like it's lacking basic information, though not vital.

Anyway, mentioning that you have a gf online is a very common thing, it's mostly unconcious though, I used to do it all the time back when I was a teenager - as I wasn't used to have a girl, the day I got a gf I couldn't shut my mouth about it, I mentioned her even when it wasn't necessary (for example "I went outside and it's cold", i would add the unecessary gf information: "I went outside with my gf and it's cold").
I realized I was doing that to feel better about myself + let random strangers that I have a gf. When I became conscious about it, I stopped doing it.

Gotta go now, wife is waiting with some hot cocoa.
