Wizardry makes me feel weird. So your party is basically a group of plunderers? The entire universe just seems to be one town with a dungeon underneath it...this makes me crazy.
>Playing without a thief
This sure is going to end well...
What's weird about that? The rest of the world isn't relevant.
And your characters actually age, so they're literally spending years raiding the same dungeon

They don't age in the dungeon. They age when they rest and level up.
Two characters that both started with 15 can end up with quite an age gap.

When you read a book, do you assume that everything outside of the book's immediate setting is implied to not exist?

Angband variants and every other rogue-like will leave you comatose then. Faggot.

Priests can get decent HP, particularly if they have a high CON. Thieves are going to have less for most part.

There's that Wizardry 4 + 5 PS1 remake though. I played that one, it's great.

Isn't that casualized as fuck with an automap?
What's the point of all the spinner tiles if you can just look at the automap after every step?

You can choose not to use it.
There's other changes in the alternative version like being able to issue commands for your pets.
But even baby mode 4 is still a challenge.
