I'm actually glad they stopped using the laser intro at 6th gen (and actually the intro during 5th gen wasn't the laser anymore, they tried some "cool three dee" intros at the time).
Not that Konami didn't release good shit later on, but yeah, if you play a game and it has the laser intro, you just know it's good shit and there's no doubt about it.

I feel the same whenever I start a game and see pic related.

It's a shame how most pre-game intro screens nowadays are boring slogs of silent logos one after the other, without any cool animation or sound effects to enjoy like the Konami or Capcom one from the 90s. Those were short and were always enjoyable to see/hear.
