Triple trouble
I made this video showing my stuff off a few days ago. It's a pretty small collection. Please excuse my shitty youtube alter ego.

$1,000's for the first one is accurate
The Vrtual Boys were $100 all together
The Vectrex was $300
>>3765793
I thought Virtual Boys were worth 250-300 now?
>>3765795
Bought broken ones and fixed them :^)
>>3765818
Why dont you keep doing that and just amass 100 and resell them
I know a lot of this isn't retro but whatever. There is a bunch of stuff obscured in that pic too plus more consoles that are currently hooked up.

>>3766151
It's not plugged in. I needed somewhere to put them and I wasn't using that freezer so it became console storage.
my place is still the same.
i now have what was in the kitchen, in my room for easier access.

i kinda don't care anymore
i have probably 65-70% of what will be posted and its kinda boring to see the same shit posted over and over just in different amounts and settings.
cool, you have import systems
cool, you have the same 90s shit as everyone else
cool, you have some classic or rare games
it's just old hat now. everyone in this thread will probably all post at least 1 system in common
unless its something like a vectrex
>>3765737
You're missing the Game Boy Pocket, Micro and a few of the DS models.

>>3766151
Do you not?
>>3766195
I agree. Recently sold a closet full of retro game stuff I had been accumulating from years. It was doing me no good, and I just decided to sell it all at once, and not worry about getting top dollar for everything. I kept a handful of my favorite SNES games and a SNES mini, and decided to use the money I made to buy an SD2SNES, a pair of 8bitdo wireless controllers/receivers, an HDRetrovision YPbPr cable, a little 15" JVC broadcast monitor with the RGB/YPbPr input card, and a small little table for everything with baskets for storage. I literally went from an embarrassing amount of retro debris to a tiny, curated setup that doesn't take up any space at all. Feels good.
Driving around town every weekend to check all the thrift shops for cheap games started to feel way too petty. I bought a bunch of stuff that I didn't need, and wasted a lot of time doing it. Nobody needs all that stuff, and no one is impressed by it. Retro gaming is fun, but you should spend your time playing, sharing, and enjoying this stuff with your friends, not trying to find every cart, box, and manual.
>>3766596
cool blog post.

i forgot to bid on one that ended up going for $30 today

>>3765737
Holy shit, never knew the supaboy was so fucking thick, looks uncomfortable as fuck.does it at least play well?
>>3765772
I'm not one to judge, but I would recommend making a more proper "setup" for it, like a nice chair or something so you aren't sitting criss cross on your floor. That is if you plan to continue with this stuff. Other than that, I liked it!

PAL Saturn games didn't come in the plastic cases that US games did or regular jewel cases like Japanese Saturn games. They came in cardboard boxes.

>>3767054
Forgot pic.
>>3767060
Wow I'd usually freak out but this is really good use of space.
Don't put your CDs sideway tho.
>>3767082
Oriignally had them standing up. But I moved to a new place where I don't have a workshop and now I'm stck with my old spindles, and some of them are far too tall, so I had to lay them down. Also the new place is smaller, so I can't store them on my shelves anymore. The drawers under the bed where the best place to put them.
>>3766156
Why does it have to be parents? I own things like this.
>>3765737
>SNES
>Dreamcast (going to sell off because the console fucking sucks)
>Nintendo 64
>Playstaition
>GB and GB Color
>Turbo Graphics 16
As far as retro consoles go, those are the ones I own. Sorry, I live in America and don't play enough Weaboo games to justify importing jap consoles like the PC-FX (Though I like the console design on that one). No pics as all of them are in storage. I mostly emulate to keep them in good condition. Also fuck Sega.
>>3767082

>>3766112

>>3767751

>>3766839
>stacking your ps2 games horizontally
Way to fuck up the discs.
>>3767760
I'm curious, how would that mess up the discs?
1/2 idk why but my photos will probably be rotated. Don't know the fix.
2/2
>>3767763
The weight of the disc is obviously on the spindle, so gravity will fuck up the edges of discs over the years. In a vertical position the weight is distributed evenly on the disc.
>>3765787
Those are the new trolls. If they were him, he's a time traveler or worse
>>3768193
Nope, just some weirdo collector.
He sold it all for in a lot $1,500 ($5 per cart)
>>3768319
Wasn't it some youtuber who just had fans who kept sending them to him?
I need to update this. I since got the Disk System for the Famicom, and I found a Halo Edition xbox for Steel Battalion.
Also got a little over 60 more games since, and a new TV.
I'll probably take a new picture once theSwitchcomes out.
>>3768462
That must be a pain trying to put a game back everytime you want to play another one.
>>3768464
Thankfully I'm tall, but it's still worse than it looks. My computer desk is under that shelf, so I need to lean over it, and sometimes move the chair out of the way, which is bullshit when you have a hippy carpet.
>>3767049
fuck terrible they ffell apart really easy, they look good all stand together tho
>>3768465
It also looks like the right shelf is going to split in half from all the weight its holding.
>>3768481
The right side, yeah?
It's secured by a middle bracket, but one of these days, I'm going to take it all down, and get something stronger, then use 4 brackets instead of three.

I'm ill and I'm afraid of leaving all my stuff for my family to deal with so I have it all binned up now. I'm thinking of just selling it as a lot but it ranges from retro to modern and I'm not quite sure how to go about it.

Mate do you live in Charlestown by any chance?
>>3768780

whoops, last one. this is a majority of my retro games, ps1/dreamcast are now in this room and game boy games are in binders.
do you guys still find cib stuff?
they seem like they are impossible to find nowadays

>>3770593
that's really nice, thanks anon! Before I moved into my new house, I specifically remember saying that I needed a spare bedroom for a retro themed room. i'm glad it worked out in the end.
>>3769012
how much did your pay for all of those combined?
>>3770670
I mean, I didn't really keep a tally; that collection is over years and years. PDS was found when I helped a friend move out of his house and he let me keep it along with the Saturn that got me started. I recall I paid something like $120 for Magic Knight Rayearth in 2013. Other than that the rest I got mostly through trades online and off.
>>3766151
I seriously hope you guys don't do this
>>3770818
Fair enough. I slowly want to improve my Saturn collection, but a majority of the good games cost well over $200. It's fucking suffering to say the least.
Anyway, how is that Iron Man game?
>>3770826
Hot garbage. I think I got it as a throw-in.
>>3770841
Oh really? It looks like a side-scrolling platformer which is one of my favourite genres. Does it just play awfully or something?
>>3770860
It's just clunky and slow, the bosses have too much health for how simple they are. It's not the worst, but it feels like other digitized games of the time.
>>3770873
Fair enough. I'm not stranger to liking bad games and it appears to be one of the more cheaper saturn games. i'll probably pick it up in the coming weeks.

>>3771117
btw that was my handheld gaming devices collection. I tried to get only the best games, and also the ones that I enjoyed when I was younger, mainly on game boy.
I have a few more games now, such as Stranded Kids.
>>3771129
>full tism
All I said was "lol" and then that I thought they looked goofy. Didn't mean to make you have a tantrum, Jesus.
>>3771136
Maybe one day, but I fear I won't like the console. Also I'm not into jrpg at all, and it would be painful to me to spend 200$ for Gravity Rush

>>3771117
So many manuals and only a few boxes??
>>3773520
Well, those are childhood manuals, and back then I (quiet stupidly) threw away the boxes, except the ones on the picture.
Also would somebody bump this thread with pictures?
>>3766839
>>3766940
I think so too. The classic mistake I keep seeing in game room videos is people having shelves that are too deep. That just means they end up having shit stacked up in front of the games, or even worse: double layers.
With double layers, you are no longer displaying games, you are simply storing them. Your game room becomes a storage.
