What does Navi really look like?
>>3755132
After watching that music video, I wanted to plow that Navi so hard
Perhaps something like what the faeries looked like in LttP, but honestly I think she is just a winged orb of energy. The wing to aura ratio wouldn't fit for her having a traditional human-like fairy body in there. Plus, in MM, the little fairies that make up the Great Fairies do have distinct, visible bodies, while Tatl and Tael still have that energy aura look, leading one to believe that they are just what they look like.
So, either Navi is tiny as shit with huge wings, or she is really just a winged blue-ish magic ball.

Like a Windwaker fairy but she glows so hard that you can't make out her true form.
Winged borb. Any other depiction is completely and utterly inaccurate.
Though I do feel the need to point out that she has insect wings, so if she had a body it would almost certainly not be that of a human.
>>3755296
Was OoT your first Zelda or something?
>>3754714
Like a ball of light with wings.
>>3754714
like tinkerbell, since link is peter pan
>>3754714
>>3755478
Yes. I heard about the original on release but didn't buy it because I predicted it would be unbeatable without a strategy guide due to all the cryptic bullshit they wrote about in Super Power.
>>3754714
There's probably more than one sub category of 'fairies' in the Zelda universe, because I don't see why if Navi, Tatl, and tael are just fairies, that they couldn't use similar models to the great fairy when she's scattered into multiple ones, or the fairies that replenish HP for them
Maybe they're like willo-the-wisps, or Cajun Fairies

good question

S-source?
Probably about like this I guess? But 3D
>>3754714
If she is small enough to have her whole figure hidden inside that ball of light, imagine how huge her wings must be in comparison to her body
Either shes that and shines to bright or shes just some magical being. But she has a gender and can speak, also feelings. Maybe check jap culture i dont know what developers thought of.
Like nothing. It's just a ball of light in the air with what seems like wings surrounding it.
An eldritch being of uncomprehensible shape.
like this

They wanted to make a cute fairy girl, but having a full polygon character would have muddled things a bit visually, so they settled on ball of light.

Is she old and ugglio?

Yeb Miyamoto also planned Navi to have feelings for Link - it got scrapped but later in the manga they used it.
>>3760163
I wish.
>>3754714
Like you see her, a winged ball of blue glowing energy.
Navi looks like Rob Schneider drunk.
Navi's just an orb with wings in the Ocarina manga.
>>3755593
Nah, it has puzzles but is far from cryptic.

>like will-o-the-wisps
That's kind of what I figured. Fairies don't always have to have solid bodies. In traditional European fairy lore, they always have a kind of ethereal and ghostly quality ascribed to them.
>Koizumi: Yeah. I remember something else with regard to Z-targeting. When we were making a prototype of battle targeting, we wanted to make it easy to see which enemy you're targeting, so we made a marker.
>Iwata: Uh-huh.
>Koizumi: An upside-down triangle.
>Iwata: Like the one appeared above the targeted opponent's head.
>Koizumi: Yeah. But I was a designer, so I didn't want to use such a simple marker. I wanted to make something else, so I came up with a fairy. After all, it was The Legend of Zelda.
>Iwata: So first you went to make a marker, and later you made the fairy?
>Koizumi: Right. Usually, if you were to make a fairy, you would make a cute girl, but that wasn't possible with the Nintendo 64 system, so I just made a ball of light with wings.
>Iwata: Uh-huh.
>Koizumi: I called it the Fairy Navigation System, took it to Osawa-san, and asked, "How's this?" He immediately said, "Let's name itNavi." Because she navigates! (laughs)

Navi is actually a tiny little Spock, floating in space, with a space suit and jet pack. He's just really really small, and some strange field is projecting his presence into Link's world.
