Thread devoted to all things Vectrex. This is my single favorite console of all time, surprised to see that it isn't really discussed often around here
Does this console have the single best homebrew library ever? Fan games are even higher quality than actual release titles
I got a new overlay for vectrex. Makes the games look really trippy, I can't go back to black and white ever again
Where do you get these homebrews?
I'd be interested in getting a Vectrex but holy fuck have they spiked in price

Multicart. I got my 72-in-1 for like $30

Really? Where, they're around $100 these days
they call it the vectrex because it has vector graphics

faggot.
>>3755061
lol, thanks a lot for that nifty tidbit

eBay. They produced a batch in 2012.
>>3754480
ooh, where do these come from?
I saw a Vectrex kiosk at my local pawn shop in my small ass town recently, had never even seen a Vectrex in person let alone the store kiosk, couldn't believe my eyes. It went to a friend of the shop clerk, I wouldn't have had room for it anyway but he did let me try it. Quite a cool piece of equipment, would love to own one for the right price someday.

I've got one too, got a couple of boxed games like Bezerk, no flash cart sadly.
Mine is about due capacitor replacement.

DARN IT

After that one guy tried fixing one and pretty much fucked it up beyond repair I think a lot of people got scared or gave up on the thing.

But it looks like we may be in for another gore treat. Up next it a kid with a serious recap fetish. He actually tried to recap a kitten once because it's mews sounded funny. Stay tuned
>>3758741
No, it really does need a recap, audio is a bit fucked and the CRT occasionally takes a while to kick in.
It's missing a lot of good vector games as it couldn't have Atari's library and died too early.

Good thing there's an active homebrew scene!

I look forward to the gore. On one hand I hate to see another vectrex butchered. On the other hand it will be funny as fuck. And of course will likely cause a Vectrex that can be easily fixed to be sold for cheap to someone who can do that.

Same. My local game store has had one sitting in a glass counter, overpriced of course, for the past 2 years and it's never been turned on. Asked if they would consider putting it on display for people to try it and they said no. Makes me sad.
I did end up being able to try one though at a retro convention later. Although it was beat to shit, missing a button and joystick barely working, it was still magical. I'd buy one in a heartbeat if they weren't so, so expensive.

>why wouldn't the game store demo their vectrex?
>why is this demo vectrex about broken?
>why are working vectrexes so rare?
