Do you remember the very first Unreal? I don't think I had ever seen something like this before. It was BEAUTIFUL! It felt so magical. Just looking into the stars and being blown away by the graphics. The entire atmosphere. The grass. The landscapes. I also remember my first scripted moment (I actually hate scripted shit nowdays): When you enter that hallway and those lights turn off one by one or that other scene when a gate is almost closed and you hear some screams coming from the other side and blood splatting through that gate. Amazing moments. I don't remember any other game that has made me feel like that ever since. Of course it's all nostalgia and we didn't have something like that before. You can't break new grounds anymore nowadays especially with OH WOW look at those graphics. It just isn't there anymore.

I had no problems enjoying the game now without any nostalgia. Its still good.

I suppose at the time Unreal was Unreal. I didn't really enjoy it last year and dropped it around the aryan temple when you get the rocket launcher.

Fuck the graphics (not like I could enjoy them with the shit rig I had) it was all about the music and skaaj.

You can play the campaign co-op online. Some people might find that more appealing.
It's just sad that it was one of the greatest games and what is it now? It's "just" an Engine. Most games run the Unreal Engine. The last Unreal Tournament was ages ago and sadly that one sucked and that seemed to be the end of Unreal games.

I've heard complaints, but the new "community driven" UT they're working on now is worth a play. It's never gonna reach the peaks of greatness that were UT99 or 2004 though.
I'm playing it right now
Is there a game that "does not mess around" even more than unreal?
