This thread is for the awesome games of Sega's Model 2 arcade hardware.
I've been playing Top Skater a lot recently. This is an extremely addicting game to play for score. Chaining together tricks and getting repeated S-tricks in the halfpipe feels great.
It plays well in the Model 2 emulator using an Xbox 360 controller, using the triggers to bank the board. It has that same late 90s pop punk style that Crazy Taxi does, with the music provided by Pennywise.

Make sure to play the Japanese version, as it has 6 songs instead of 3.
Holy shit OP I was fucking playing Top Skater just earlier today and I TOO was thinking about how awesome this game is!SOCIETYYYYYYYYYYYYY

I'm a huge top skater fan, but let's be real here. You can't emulate the fun of that board. That's like playing DDR with your arrow keys and pretending to be satisfied.
Wouldn't it be nice is the track I always played to, it's just got kick-ass pacing for the game.
Overall, this was one of my go-to games at the local arcade when I was a kid. They had Freeplay Tuesdays for $5 at the door and I would spend every Tuesday there after school mostly playing DDR, Top Skater, Initial D, Tekken Tag Tournament, and Time Crisis 2. I miss my local arcade.

Do you think it's possible to play this game with the board peripheral that came with tony hawk ride?
>>3749176
I 100℅ guarantee that it can be done, but I can also guarantee that it'll feel like shit. Totally different control mechanics.
I absolutely loooooove how floaty the board for this game feels.
First score attempt, did I do good guys?

What course?
Are you doing the double jump trick on the halfpipe?
>>3749248
Easy course, also no what's the double jump trick?

They used to have this cab at the Playdium in Mississauga. It had a skateboard you rode to play, thought this game was the shit back when the Tony Hawk games were still fresh back then

When going up a half/quarter pipe, kick once or twice as you go up the curve to increase speed and height, you'll get an S trick. You can see it in this video.

How about Manx TT Superbike?
Another great Sega motorcycle game, with an excellent sense of speed. Too bad there's only two tracks. Music kicks ass as expected.

It used to be very common where I live. The cabinet is awesome, you put your feet up on the bars and shift your body to steer, rather than keeping your feet on the ground and simply tilting the bike like most arcade motorcycle games. I even once saw the deluxe cabinet, where the whole bike slides sideways when you steer.
There were solid Saturn and PC ports, and you can even ride a fucking sheep.

The Ride board is pretty shitty
