What made this game such a masterpiece?
>suddenly feel the urge to make a thread about game
>I have absolutely nothing to say about it
>"I know, I will just use a meme"

The randomized levels and exciting presents system. Plus it's one of the few 2P games where having a friend actually gives you a significant advantage.

>funny, weird, 90s vibes, funky soundtrack, shared screen multiplayer, good mechanics
it's literally the definition of a fucking great game.

I love this game. In an era of 2d side scrolling follow the path games they decided to make a free roaming game with tons of stuff to do and learn. Such a turn from the same old stuff that we were used to getting. A unique story with all the trimmings of comedy. It didn't try to be anything else but its own game and that is what made this game so awesome. Can't wait for the remake.

Stinky hat
Amamzing game and contained of the first music DJ/Mix modes to make your own jams!
The present system is genius. The pacing was slow so you could play with anyone in your family. Enemies were hard enough to really cause stress, esp if you didn't have an item. It had a working split screen co-op. Every time you play it, you aren't sure whats going to happen. Getting killed is somehow hilarious.
Love me some tj&e. Definitely more fun with friends tho.
Let's be honest, it's a shitty game but it's still beloved by many (myself included) because of the funky totally 90s vibe and because it's SEGA.

spoken like someone who's never actually played the game, and is just repeating what they heard their favorite e-celeb say

Huh? I had this game as a kid and played it countless times with my brother.
I love it, but I wouldn't call it a good game.

The universe and gameplay were so unique... people could watch you play like they were watching a cool, funny movie.
This game attracted my parents every time (just to see what happened), while they barely cared about any other game in existence.

It definitely qualifies as a good game, by any metric. Is it a masterpiece? I don't know, good game? Definitely.
