Depends on the puzzle game. On Tetris DS, it's almost impossible to lose because you'll never run into a bad situation like getting consecutive pieces of Z's.
Ive been playing texmaster daily for about three months now so I think I have gotten better at Tetris. One day I may buy an arcade stick and try real TGM.

>it's almost impossible to lose
>tfw can't get past level 9
I need some protips.
is there any other puzzle game that is literally good for your brain besides tetris?

how about literally any other puzzle game?

played pic related as a kid
and also some other custom tetris game someone made with weird X shaped pieces and some 5 block long ones along with alot of other random crap (it was EGA color I believe)
you know what I wish is that tetris games would have an option not to keep increasing the speed or limit the speed increase
it can be meditative just arranging blocks yknow, maybe make the field bigger over time like OP's picture.
at a certain threshold of speed it becomes non-casual and eventually you will fail somehow probably due to greed (id say maybe Level 4 or Level 5 tetris standard) and after that it should be about endurance and claiming how many levels you got to (be it level 20 or 30 or 50, etc).
> and if you make it to level 99 you're just a prick and nobody cares because you could be spending your brain power on becoming an engineer
