A little easter egg by Nintendo is that if you combine all of the Pokemon region maps you get Italy.

Good game, I've been looking for this one.
I always did want to know what was to the east.

I love SMW's world so so so so much.
Playing through that game when I was 7 years old and finding all the exits/secrets on SNES was just magic.

Did you know, the overworld map in Super Mario World is supposed to be a representation of the Earth map.
>>3719323
wow, I've never heard about it!
idk why the only version of this map that gets posted everywhere is the one with pieces torn out of it.
>>3719693
I say that and then accidentally upload the very same version of the map i'm complaining about.
I also can't seem to find the clean un-torn version of the map that I screenshot myself.
Oh well.

I have a Super Mario 64 guide book with a bird's eye view of all the maps rendered in 3D
Pretty neat

This is a beautiful thing.

What game is this?
At first glance this map looks like a retro version of Slyverant from Tales of Symphonia.

Japanese writing question: There's only one character that's a single straight line and it means "one" but it's a horizontal line. In this picture whenever they write top to bottom they put the line vertical... Are there any other characters that switch orientation like that?

Dragon Warrior IV

I think those lines are actually the vowel-elongating line of Katakana.

>In horizontal writing it is similar in appearance to, but should not be confused with, the kanji character 一 ("one").
That pretty much confirms it I guess.
>>3721669
In fact I didn't even need to quote that part of the article; I just noticed it explicitly explains it:
>Its form is a horizontal or vertical line in the center of the text with the width of one kanji or kana character. It is written horizontally in horizontal text and vertically in vertical text.
And I'm almost sure that it's a unique property of it.

Yeah the lines are for katakana, which is used for english words.
For example Donuts Plains: ドーナツ平野 (Doonatsu heiya). The straight horizontal line is the indication that "Do" has a vowel extension, when writting in hiragana, or romaji, japanese actually write that as "Dou", so in this case "dounatsu", but it's pronounced doonatsu.
>>3719951
Yes I know.
I just wanted to know why it took so long for someone to upload one that didn't have pieces torn out of it at the bottom.
>>3719157
I fucking loved playing aero fighters with my bros. I liked the dude who could put out mines (i think he was the sweden second player), though I remember the GLORIOUS NIPPON was definitely the strongest.
