Meanwhile, on Myst Island...
Did I leave the gas on in the cabin?
I really enjoyed Myst when I was younger and I remember playing Riven multiple times and thinking it was mind blowingly good when it came out,. I even loved the shit out of Myst III: Exile, and even replayed it recently with the missus (she thought the puzzles were fun and the live acting was neat.) I played Uru for a full year, and have even read all the novels.
But for some reason, I can't play any version of the first game without becoming terribly bored halfway through whatever book I go to first (even a tricked out RealMyst doesn't do it for me.) Yes, the game has some very comfy spots, but the puzzles are too simple, easy to remember, and there's too little to really do in the environments to actually have any replay value.
But then again, I can't understand why people play Minecraft, so maybe I'm just not autistic enough to really get anything out of it.

It's a puzzle + exploration game, dude, they're not really made to be played over and over. I think yours is a normal experience with these types of games. I mean, I love the Myst series, but I've never bother to complete any of them more than once.

This game was my first comfy gaming experience.
I could chill for hours in planetarium.
