My first nights game was the eye toy sega collection for ps2

I've played the Wii nights but never the Saturn one. All fans of the Saturn game I've seen shit on the wii game but it seemed alright to me.

The Saturn version is in a while other league from the Wii version

NiGHTS didn't kill the Saturn anywhere and you know it. The industry's 3D fetish combined with arcane hardware and Sega's baffling corporate decisions is what did it in.

I like NiGHTS but you have to admit there isn't a whole lot to it.

A few days play and you'll have unlocked pretty much everything and found the optimum flight paths through each level.

You'll get S-ranks pretty much every time you play after that... Where do you go from there? You can get all autistic and Japanese and try and eke a few more points every time you play, but the appeal of doing so is pretty limited.

Sega fans will really hate me saying this, but Nintendo would have taken the bare bones of NiGHTS and fleshed it out into a *real game* - they never would have released it as it is, a patchy tech demo full of ideas that aren't properly realised.

Of course they never would have had the idea for the game in the first place, but...

Disclaimer: I've been Sega all my life and haven't owned a console since Dreamcast. I loved NiGHTS but I'm being honest here.

that's what i love about sega though. sometimes the format doesn't have to be so fleshed out like nintendo, that only assures more time is put into the game. i like how arcade-y a lot of sega games feel, this included. i love it actually.

I can imagine Sakurai coming up with something like Nights.

Miyamoto also said he would have liked to make something like Nights when he saw the game.
