What is the cheapest Genesis that will work with the Everdrive MD? I want to get a look at the library and the Everdrive MD is pretty cheap, so depending on how cheap I can obtain a system for, I might just do that. Cheapest I've seen so far was a model 2 for 30 bucks.

Model 2 would be a good choice. They average about $30 on CL. You might be able to get a bundle and flip the games. I expect them to start shooting up in price soon as the Nintendo stuff has become prohibitively expensive for many people.

From what I understand Genesis 3 has crummy sound but I never noticed anything on my friends unit when I was a kid.

If you see a broken model 2 that doesn't turn on, it most likely just needs some more solder on the three power joints, it's like a 10 minute fix.

Please, whatever you do, don't get the one that guy's holding on the right. It's a piece of shit SOAC clone made my a third party company that doesn't work properly.

>Genesis 3 has crummy sound

On the contrary it's very clean, but it's mono only apparently.
>>
>>3617329
No kidding? Thanks for the heads up. I'll avoid that one. Weird that it's pictured with the other 2 though, that being the case. I had a model 2 as a kid. Never seen that one on the left though. Guessing that's a model 1? Yes. Just googled. Anyways, thanks for the heads up.

>>3617336
Interesting. My tv is mono so maybe I'll pick this up if it's cheap (not op btw).
>>
>>3617396
The model 1 is also mono, except it also has a stereo headphone jack.

Anyway, the model 3 isn't even made by Sega. Get a model 1 if you can.

I have a sudden urge to play the megadrive (genesis). Mine (the first model) suddenly broke while playing 2-3 years ago. What model do you recommend me to buy ? Is it true that they are creating a new one in Brazil ?
>>
>>3617438
I already have the hookups for a model 2/3 and space is tight so the model 3 looked nice for being so compact but it would be nice to try some master system games so I'll just get a model 2. I have one at my mom's place that I grew up with but am being very impatient. Going there around Christmas...
(bought a Saturn a couple weeks ago and the guy gave me a broken model 2)

I think I'm gonna get the first model again. It just looks so good.
>>
Model 1 has best sound, if you don't mind running a stereo audio cable from the headphone jack out into a splitter to composite (r/w) audio to your tv (or connect thru a sega cd for the same effect). Model 2 is slightly more compact and has stereo by default, but is notorious for buzzy sound.

The best Genesis coming though lads
