Yōkai Dōchuuki is my favorite retro game, it just happens to be obscure.

Chu-Teng

Loved the movie as a kid.
From the cooperative efforts of those who went on to make Final Fantasy Tactics, we have one of the best NES hidden gems out there: Conquest of the Crystal Palace. Sidescrolling action game where you are a samurai with a dog who fights with you.

That screenshot is brutal
Sub Culture.
Super Mario Bros.
>>3616647
Warlords. Never met anyone who actually played it outside the Battlecry series.

What is: Anything good?
>>3618821
The ATARI game?
>>3618821
As in that game with the four castles in each corner?
>>3616647
Pig Out. 3 player co-op single-screen platformer in the arcades. One of the funnest multiplayer games ever and it's almost totally unknown.

I'm this anon >>3619350 and I played Castle Crisis as a kid, which I'm pretty sure is the same thing. Pic related.

Woop Woop IV: Peanut Butter Chops

Definitely the same thing. I sued to play so much 4 player Warlords with my buddies. Paddle controllers need to make a comeback.
Not super obscure but still rarely talked about

>sued
You had to take them to court to make them play with you?
Cardynal Syn. So much better in comparison to Midway's 3D fightans.

I don't have many friends, anon.

It's sort of like the reverse of a restraining order.
Tyrian 2000. Fucking loved that game. Still play it at least once a year.
Although not very obscure, I've never seen anyone talk about Lords of Magic. Love dat game :^)
if I post it people will get to know it and it will be offtopic.
Bakusou Dekotora Densetsu 2
Stupid name, but great game.

I owned that game. It had a shitload of characters and it was pretty hard from what I remember, but it was super fun with cool level designs.
>>3616647
Grandia, though it doesn't exactly feel that retro.
FFV also hits home with me, but I think that's mostly nostalgia.

First genuine shit post itt, surprised it too this long

I did, I just didn't think it looked awful for one, and two, the post was just for the purpose of noting the game itself. Focusing on that kinda dodged the point of these threads: The game itself.
