Hi /vr/,

I helped my friend move house last week and to cut a long story short I've ended up with a broken PSone. I have an idea for a project, I want to put a Raspberry Pi in there which is easy enough to do but I want to buy one of those LCD screens for it so I'd need to use the original power and AV ports, I have a couple of questions if you would be so kind to help me out.

>Power
As far as I'm aware the plug itself houses the PSU and it's rated at 7.5V and 2.0A, I'm in the UK btw. I was thinking of having a small powered USB hub inside the PSone connected to the DC port and having the Pi draw power from that along with maybe an SSD for ROMs/ISOs. I just have no idea how I would make this work in regards to voltage/amps, I can do a decent job of soldering and stuff like that but I'm not exactly an expert when it comes to electricity and power. Does anyone have any suggestions?

>AV port
I believe I could just wire in the composite output from the Pi but I'd rather get RGB. I'd rather steer clear of HDMI converters if possible due to possible lag and very limited space in the PSone.
I found this VGA board:
https://www.pi-supply.com/product/gert-vga-666-hardware-vga-raspberry-pi/
Does anyone know if it would be possible to get RGB from this VGA to the AV out? I have the pinout here:

Also, I'm not even sure what kind of video the LCD accepts from the PSone, does anyone know if it actually takes RGB or if it just takes composite from the playstation?

Thanks

A) Way to go retard, putting a raspberry PI in something for no reason

B) The screen is composite, did you try taking the damn thing off? It's basically a throughput.

C) Go fuck yourself.

i have a broken psone too i want to put a raspberry pi in it as well

It's broken, I wouldn't go and destroy a working console

>B)
I don't own the screen but I'll probably buy one. Composite does make my life easier though, thanks

>C)
I love you too

Thanks for the picture, it'll be a tighter fit than I initially thought.

You need to learn a lot more before you attempt something like this. Start with how to tie your shoes so you don't trip running out to buy an RGB->VGA converter to plug into a composite screen.

I've got velcro straps instead

I didn't know anything about the screen, I don't even own one yet. Since I now know it's composite I don't think video should be much of an issue.

I just need to figure out the power issue now

For the power this should work, you would need 5v for a Pi or USB hub

Someone correct me if I'm wrong

There is no power issue. It's all in your head.

Both my ps1 and ps2 have been a little strange. Video occasionally tears. I'm not sure why. I haven't tested other games yet. Could it be the disc itself or is it the hardware?

I didn't want to start a thread just for this and I figure there'd be a lot of smart people here. I'm scared /vr/
