I've played the PC game, and that was annoying as fuck. Not hard, just annoying. Stages took 30 minutes to complete, and you are locked out of the secret paths by doing simple stuff like falling from the wrong ledge.

What I like about the original and the DS version for that matter, is that it's a simple fun platformer without a lot of gimmicks. Sure, they don't exactly push any boundaries, but they do what they set out to do pretty well. Nice clean jump'n'run. Platformers today are almost either:

* Puzzle platformers
* Metroidvanias
* Based on gimmicks
* Impossihard
* Plain bad

In original C64 tGGS you pick up a ball to get the spiky hair punk powerup. You pick up lightning bolts to throw Dream Balls.

It should have been lightning that shocked you and gave you lightning struck hair while the ball should allow you to throw balls!
