What /vr/ thinks about Pier Solar?

>It looks like shit, so it's retro lol rite breh's, wat u tink?!
Are you guys seriously gonna sperg out over a 16-bit game that runs on a /vr/ platform. It's the very definition of something that belongs here.
Has anyone here actually played through a decent portion of Pier Solar?
I want to get into this game because the graphics are gorgeous and I'd like more RPG's for my Genesis, but I'm worried that the story will devolve into fandom-tier garbage. I've played through early parts of the game and while the dialogue isn't too cringy, the cutscene drawings look like they're pulled straight from deviantart.

Getting back on topic, the game honestly isn't that great. It looks lush but the story and game play mechanics are bland and generic as fuck.
That might apease some people but for me there's honestly not much to recommend when there are far superior rpgs on the system.

I keep telling myself I will play it one day. I waited for it to be released on the 360, but one day I'll play it on PS3. I wish I knew of the game sooner, because I'd have loved to get the CD included with the game (plus I think the JP MD box was cooler), so I got stuck with the reprint.
The MD does have a deficiency in RPGs, so I am glad to have another.

you could just play it on PC with a controller

I could ... I have that disease which makes me burn money which I desperately need. I think it came in some humble bundle, but I have not logged an hour on this DRM yet ... again, one day.
Utter shit, done by fanboys trying to replicate crappy 16 bit RPG, but worse than said RPGs. Why the fuck I would want to play a copy of old RPGs if I already played those old RPGs?
If your game need auto pathfinding, your map design is really bad.

Never heard of this game, but reading the thread it doesnt look like i missed out on much.
I didn't enjoy it very much. Battle is very very tedious - to use strong skills, you have to waste a turn "charging up", and that multiple times. Characters can pass charges, but that takes a turn too. Ground guys can't hit fliers, which is also a fucking pain in the ass.
The graphics are pretty boring. There's a "HD" mode that changes the backgrounds only. Level design is the same old junk.
As far as the story goes, it didn't exactly have me gripped. In fact the only thing I distinctly remember is trying to cut a tree with a badger. I quit after the desert, which is a few hours into the game. Had some screenshots but IDK where I put them.

Hahaha, that's an understatement, friend. While I envy your collection (rare gamepads, mostly), you're obviously a hoarder.
Nevertheless, I too suffer from that affliction. I would argue that I have a better handle on it, if only to compensate for my far more modest collection.

You don't say.

If you guys ever see a thread with this on the OP, don't respond. If you accept posts wherein the poster intentionally acts stupid these posts will only become more common and the overall quality of the board will get worse.
