Lanyard.
>>
Lanyard/wrist strap.
>>

Obviously a Kensington Lock slot.

Why are these Gameboys so expensive all of a sudden? It seems the past few months they've shot up from $20-30 to $60-70. We've reached insane new heights of jewery.
>>
>>3590708
Because hipsters.
>>
>>3590680
In Japan, at least at the time, lanyards/wrist straps were really trendy. It was a basic expect that a product would have a place to attach one.

The Gameboy Micro also has one.

And yeah, straps were popular as fuck in Japan due to keitai culture. Not sure about today.
>>
>>3590748
The trend pretty much died out as smartphones took over. It's all about keychains now.
>>
>>3590748
They resisted leaving flip phones for nearly a decade but they're finally switching to iPhones.
>>
>>3590680
So you could skull fuck it with your microdick

>>3590708
Bandwagon collectors. Like you.

Flip phones have been largely dead in Japan for at least five years, pretty much as soon as the iPhone became widely available. There are some people (mainly old people and young children) who still use flip phones, but they haven't been popular for a long time. And Android phones have been picking up in popularity recently as well, to the point that I see a pretty even mix these days.

>Emarketer reckons that Japan now has 106 million active mobile users, of whom 48.9 percent were on smartphones in 2015. So the rest are still on flip phones, usually made by Japanese brands.

>Start collecting old handhelds some years back
>Get myself a Neo Geo Pocket Color in 2012, I think?
>Man this thing is great, I might buy a second one in a cooler colour scheme
>Discover the Hanshin Tigers model
>Trading hands for about £80 boxed
>Remember today I never picked one up
>Go looking
>Only one for sale I can find anywhere is used and £250

Fuck's sakes. Casual hipsters ruin everything good.

GBC, £5 at a carboot for me. That said though, I spent £60 on a AGS101-GBA from the states because you can't get any in the UK for less than a £100; and that was with a scratched up case which I swapped with an AGS001.
